The 10 Best Sci-Fi Films Never Made - Nov 22, 2008 - 10:29am
Well, I would have liked to seen "I, Robot" mentioned here...as they actually were trying to get it made since the '50s; yes there was that Will Smith piece of shit; but it turns out there was a well loved script written in '77 by Harlen Ellison!

McGowen & Rodriguez Team Up for RED SONJA - Jun 27, 2008 - 04:54am
Dazzler,
It was a licensing issue, for some reason the producers of the original could not get the rights to have Conan in their "Red Sonja" movie, bur if you read the Conan stuff they do meet.

Update: Ledger's Autopsy Is Inconclusive - Jan 23, 2008 - 09:26am
Well, here is another person who is only a few years younger than me found dead, first it was Jonathan Brandis, in 2003, who I remember watching on TV and a few movies in the '80s before he did SeaQuest DSV, and now 5 years later Heath Ledger is found dead.

Charlize Theron Joins Viggo in THE ROAD - Jan 15, 2008 - 05:41am
madmaniac999,
I've got a great idea for a post-apocolyptic movie, the problem is...I have no idea how to write a script treatment or a script; and I've got a lot of ideas for movies!

Arnold Returning to TERMINATOR SALVATION Trilogy - Dec 29, 2007 - 05:38am
skyn3t,
'and you see the original arnie and kyle sent in the beginning of the 2nd'
Sorry to tell you this, that is not your idea. Read the T2 series by S.M. Stirling, at the end of "T2: The Future War" we see the original T800 get sent back, then Kyle right after it, then the T1000 sent back, and then the T800 again.
Singleton Confirms A-TEAM, Drops EXECUTIVE ORDER:SIX - Dec 14, 2007 - 09:09am

New Poster for SPIDERWICK CHRONICLES - Dec 11, 2007 - 08:58pm
How many books in the series does the movie cover, because I want to read them before I see the movie..?!
Swank Travels to FANGLAND - Dec 06, 2007 - 08:21am
That was really redundant to mention the plot outline in the main body of the story...and, then mention it again in its own section within the story.
Gods of Time
Fivesome Cast For Apatow's YEAR ONE - Dec 06, 2007 - 08:19am
hanso, do you really have to ask that...just take a look at his/her username; heck read all the comments from him/her over the years and you'll see he/she has nothing useful to say about any movie!

ENCHANTED Dances into Top Spot - Nov 26, 2007 - 07:52am
originaldave77,
I saw the movie The Mist at an advance screening, and I think I know where the audience applauded...because they did the same thing when I saw it.

Gods of Time

MARTIAN CHILD - Nov 02, 2007 - 07:33am
I saw this Thursday night at an advance screening, this wasn't a bad movie, could have been a little better. I haven't read the book that this is based on, but I may try and find it.

Another BOURNE Adventure for Damon? - Oct 19, 2007 - 09:03am
Well, I can see them making "The Bourne Legacy" into a movie, but if anyone has read the book you'll see problems with it...it's almost as if he is fighting like he did in the first Bourne book!

A Teasing Look at THE EYE - Oct 14, 2007 - 01:43pm
This doesn't seem the have the same creepiness the original Korean one did...there just seems to be something lacking; does anyone else think that?!
New Redband Clip of 30 DAYS OF NIGHT - Oct 14, 2007 - 01:39pm
And, like usual...to hell with anyone who doesn't live in the US; I am so getting fedup with studios pulling this shit!!!
HITMAN Director Executed by Fox? - Oct 12, 2007 - 08:33am

Spielberg Talks INDY 4 & TRANSFORMERS 2 - Oct 10, 2007 - 10:11am
I would have to say that the Indiana Jones was the de facto movie trilogy of the '80s. I remember seeing "Indiana Jones and the Raiders of the Lost Ark" in the theatre back in '81, didn't see "Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom" in the theatres, but did see it on VHS...and I did see "Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade" in the theatres in '89. Can't wait to see this one in the theatres!

DISTURBIA 2 Getting Prepped? - Oct 10, 2007 - 10:04am
Shia is an amazing actor, he should have one an Emmy for his role in Tru Confessions; a made-for-tv movie. I haven't seen Disturbia yet, but I plan to eventually.

Spyglass Options BROOD Remake - Oct 02, 2007 - 08:44am
He didn't create "The Dead Zone", he only directed it, Jeffrey Boam wrote the screenplay for the movie...which was based on Stephen King's book.
AnnaSophia Robb Joins WITCH MOUNTAIN - Sep 26, 2007 - 07:59am
There already was a remake -- or more of a reimagining -- to "Escape To Witch Mountain", in 1995 as you can see by following the following link: http://imdb.com/title/tt0112985/ It wasn't very good.
Robert Jordan Passes Away - Sep 17, 2007 - 09:42am
I've been reading fantasy books since '85 -- The Hobbit & The Lion, The Witch, and The Wardrobe were my first -- and have been watching fantasy films since '84. RJ created an amazing world, like TG and TB did.
Robert Jordan Passes Away - Sep 17, 2007 - 09:03am
Well, I was posting this info to the forum, just as they were posting it to the Books section...great minds do think alike! It is sad news however, I hope they can get another author to finish book 12...I call for Terry Goodkind to step in and finish the series for Robert Jordan!
Kosinski Directing TRON Sequel - Sep 11, 2007 - 08:38am
I would love them to make the "Tron 2.0" video game into the sequel to the original movie; it in itself is basically already a sequel to the original movie...but a video game instead.
HALLOWEEN - Aug 31, 2007 - 07:43am
Zombie basically killed off any chance of remaking any of the other parts as Loomis is dead and so is Michael...saw it last night at an advance screening.
Virgin Goes Intergalactic Reviving DAN DARE - Aug 27, 2007 - 01:08pm
In the television show Otherworld, they did something similiar...to get to another zone the family had to pass through Gates.
Virgin Goes Intergalactic Reviving DAN DARE - Aug 27, 2007 - 08:13am
I have't seen the new Flash Gordon, so I cannot comment on how good or how bad it is...however I can comment on the fact that this seems to be the era of "reimagining" -- which is not really a remake -- different tv shows/movies.
Five Clips from Zombie's HALLOWEEN - Aug 22, 2007 - 01:47pm
lister,
That is Virginia, that also doesn't mean every state, province, or country has those rules.
Live Action DOCTOR STRANGE On the Way? - Aug 16, 2007 - 09:05pm
I am surprised that the article didn't mention the live action made-for-TV "Dr. Strange" -- http://imdb.com/title/tt0077469/ -- movie of 1978. It can of course be found on one of the many BitTorrent trackers which at this point is really the only way to see it.
Garrett Ready For APRIL FOOL'S DAY - Aug 15, 2007 - 01:57pm
Whiskeymovie,
You may want to check on IMDb for some of the names you mention...some are still acting.
Garrett Ready For APRIL FOOL'S DAY - Aug 15, 2007 - 01:55pm
lister -- any relation to the 'Lister' from the Red Dwarf series? :P -- you have to remember, there are people who never saw this movie...some of them who have read about it on here may go out and try and find the DVD for this movie, and it is on DVD...others may wait for the remake to hit theatres and not know the ending because they haven't watched the original. Some may watch the remake, and then try and get the original on DVD. I do the last thing with certain movies...sometimes I try and see the original first, before seeing the remake.
Zombie Releases 3 New HALLOWEEN Spots - Aug 15, 2007 - 08:56am
Will that POS part 3 ever be remade, and if so will they make it a MM story or keep it with Witches as the subject?! Wonder if RZ will remake part 2, seeing as how it was just part 1 extended over a second movie, because it picked up right after the end of part 1.
Garrett Ready For APRIL FOOL'S DAY - Aug 15, 2007 - 08:53am
I liked this movie as a kid when I first saw it on VHS back in the '80s...does it require a remake? That can be answered any number of ways, I wonder how they are going to do it...because if any of you saw the original you knew that it was all an "April Fool's Day" prank!
Warner's Goes for SHANNARA Series - Jun 06, 2007 - 01:52pm
Was wondering when this was going to happen, and what studio would get the rights...hopefully they do not screw this up!
Anderson Set to Helm SPY HUNTER - Jun 03, 2007 - 03:43pm

A secret the world is not ready for, Nicholas Cage is a direct descendent of Jesus...?! :P
Iliff Set to Write/Direct POINT BREAK 2 - May 18, 2007 - 09:53am
You've got to wonder about some of these people who write for Mania.com, they don't do their jobs very well at all...if he/she would have done some research he/she would know that "Point Break" is a 1991 movie and not from 1987!!!
"Hostel: Part II" Trailer Online - Mar 31, 2007 - 01:33pm
MTV f***ing sucks, cannot watch the trailer because I do not live in the US...I do however live in Canada where we have MTV Canada; does anyone know where else the trailer might be?!
"The Reaping" Final Poster - Jan 30, 2007 - 10:24am
Did this get pushed back for release again, it was supposed to come out last year, and then in Feb...now it's March; what the hell is going on?!
Tim Hill to direct "Alvin and the Chipmunks"? - Jan 25, 2007 - 10:47am
Everytime I thought about them making a movie, I always pictured Bob Saget as 'Dave Seville'...he used to sort of look like him IMHO.
Darren Aronofsky to direct "Black Swan" - Jan 20, 2007 - 02:18pm
"The film takes a look at the manipulative relationship between a veteran dancer and a rival."
Can we say "Showgirls"..?!
"Scar Night" Contest - Dec 18, 2006 - 06:39am
I've never one a Cinescape (now Mania) contest before, still trying...but of course I never win anything from anywhere; winning a book or a DVD would be nice!
ABC cancels "Day Break" - Dec 18, 2006 - 06:38am
Sort of reminded me of the movies you mentioned, as well as "Tru Calling"...which was canceled to soon.
Top Ten Movies You Should Have Seen By Now - Dec 18, 2006 - 06:35am
I have seen all the movies listed, except for: "The Great Outdoors" -- may or may not have seen, as I don't remember -- and "Dangerous Liaisons". Most of the movies I would have seen in their original theatrecal(sp?) run...well at least all the ones that came out in the '80s. Now, "Sleepaway Camp" and its sequels I didn't see until last year.
New Trailer for "TMNT" Online - Dec 08, 2006 - 03:36pm

(Did anyone else have to signup again for the site, kept getting a password error everytime I tried logging in, finally signed up again and it let me in and still had my old info?!)
Well, I would have liked to seen "I, Robot" mentioned here...as they actually were trying to get it made since the '50s; yes there was that Will Smith piece of shit; but it turns out there was a well loved script written in '77 by Harlen Ellison!
