That is not a denial

There have been a lot of rumors circulating on who will be Ant-Man in Edgar Wright’s up coming adaptation of the Marvel character. This week the rumors are saying that both Paul Rudd and Joseph Gordon-Levitt are up for the lead. The crazy thing about this role is that it is more than just one film. It is a spot on the Avengers role call as well. To consider one picture is enough, but to step into a whole franchise with spin off opportunities is another.

Joseph Gordon-Levitt addressed the rumors this week with the Huffington Post.

"There is always a lot of rumors around these projects and so far it is still only discussions. I am always very transparent when it comes to my role and my career.'m Usually the first to speak and communicate with my fans if something happens. If you hear nothing from me, they are just rumors. "

Gordon-Levitt would be my choice over Paul Rudd. We know that he can do serious films, action movies and comedic roles. However, do any of us really think that Simon Pegg isn’t going to be Ant-Man? Sound off Maniacs!

I woulde be ok with either choice but JGL woul dbe better IMHO. He would fit the part well. This is good news for the Ant-man movie in general too as it proves that they are indeed moving forward! SWEET!

Hmmm... 34? I think JGL was older. He can pull off many roles. I would have no issues with him getting the role. As I have said before, I have never been a big Ant-Man fan... I would like to see him teamed up with another character or two. I loved that footage from a while back.

I'm down with Pegg or Gordon-Levitt.  JGL would be better if they are doing Henry Pym - I think he'd bring a little more gravitas to the part, rather than Pegg's inherently lighter touch.  If they are doing the Scott Lang Ant Man, then Pegg would be solid.

Paul Rudd is always an asshat in every role I've seen him in; even in parts that he's not supposed to be, he just comes off as a douche to me.  I don't want him anywhere near ANY Marvel film.

Axia, I'm also very interested in them casting Wasp/Janet Van Dyne.  Personally, I'd love to see Morena Baccarin in the role: she's a Whedon vet (so she'll work well with his direction), she's got the right look, and she can do both action and humor well.

I said it before: Simon Pegg for Ant-Man. That would throw a different flavor we haven't seen yet.

C'mon Marvel.

If Peg is Ant Man they better start the reboot now.

Variety reports, "Sources indicate the two are expected to meet with Marvel execs and Wright one more time before a decision is made and that there’s also a possibility of one more actor being added into the mix."

If Simon Pegg is ant-man than that will be marvel's first f@"$ up in their avengers universe

monkeyfoot 10/17/2013 10:49:47 AM

They'd be fine by me if they were chosen but its still all the most rudimentary speculation so far.

Morena is a very good call for the Wasp! Yes please!

Wiseguy 10/17/2013 1:56:33 PM

Paul Rudd would be PERFECT as an Eric O'Grady Ant-Man.

If it's Hank Pym neither JGL or Pegg would be on my list. That doesn't mean they wouldn't do a good job just not my picks
