This CD is another of those fun ones where the CD case is actually part of the insert. It is a three-section fold out case with a character introduction on one page, a trailer on the other, and the CD itself in the middle. Contained within a pouch of the trailer side is another insert with English lyrics to the vocal tracks and a song list. Also included is a small, colorful advertisement for comics.

Get ready J-poppers, here comes the Best of Moldiver. Even though not every song on this CD is a J-pop hit, they still sound like it. Several instrumental tracks balanced by upbeat pop numbers definitely appeal to the J-popper in all of us. Though the music should appeal to many, it seems to lack in the power to get to you emotionally. The beat of the bass on the more upbeat of the songs doesn’t even get my feet moving. The sounds remind me more of musac than anything else and even the most prominent Instrumental is only a yawn away from coma inducing. The Moldiver experiment failed, at least musically to get any emotional reaction, whether it is toes a-tapping, or soulful tears.

I ‘d have to say not what one would expect from a classic like Moldiver.
