Universal Studios thrilled horror fans a few years ago with the release of their pantheon of Classic Monster movies on excellent, features-laden DVDs. Now, Universal has decided to repackage the titles into three Legacy theme sets: THE DRACULA LEGACY, THE FRANKENSTEIN LEGACY, and THE WOLF MAN LEGACY.
Each two-disc collection features a comprehensive four to five filmsalbeit without many of the extras that were on the original disc releases. THE FRANKENSTEIN LEGACY, for example, offers up FRANKENSTEIN, BRIDE OF FRANKENSTEIN, SON OF FRANKENSTEIN, GHOST OF FRANKENSTEIN, and HOUSE OF FRANKENSTEIN. That's a lot of old Frankie, and not a bad deal at under $30 for the whole set.
"I've always been a real werewolf fan," says Rob Burman, make-up artist and expert on the Classic Universal Monsters, "but I have to say the Mummy was the coolest [monster], because of how he looked. I mean, the Wolf Man was O.K., but basically he's a guy with a dog nose and hair on his face!"
