One bidding war later between four studios, Universal has acquired the rights to a new upcoming sci-fi adventure titled Earth vs. Moon, says the Hollywood Reporter. The spec was penned by Paul Wernick and Rhett Reese and the trade says their deal is in the mid- to high-six figures. Producer Scott Stuber--who had to deal with partner Mary Parent moving on to chair MGM--is in line to produce the film once he's done overseeing Universal's The Wolfman. Wernick and Reese are also producing.
Plot Concept: It's being kept under tight wraps but it's described as a sci-fi epic.
