Ronald D. Moore told the Hollywood Reporter he and co-executive producer David Eick began thinking about  BATTLESTAR GALACTICA's end midway through the second season.

Moore said, "We thought, if we don't start paying this off and really revealing those secrets, we'll be moving in the wrong direction and get to a place where it felt like we were jerking off the audience."

He went on to add that viewers will "get to see Earth" by the end of the show. Moore also noted they will try to wrap up most of the story lines.  He said there were no plans for a feature film or miniseries, but then added "Never say never."

Moore did mention that he and David Eick were talking to Lucy Lawless about possibly reprising her role at D'Anna Biers. No word yet.

well good for Moore... and whats with dismissing the feature film or mini series?

"We'll get to see Earth" oh... kinda like we saw Earth in the 3rd season finale? pffft...

What ever you do RM - please DO NOT bring back Lucy Lawless. Her character was bland and unbelievable.

I miss the good old Cinescape days when that crazy character that had spider in his handle would go on and on and on and on and on about the new Galactica being so bad. He must be having a party right now! "Jerking off the audience?" He must be referring to the writers of Lost. Galactica's been excellent and I'll miss it. I hope SciFi plans to put another great show in its place with the same great production values. How about a Dune series based on the newest books, or pick up after the lst mini series with God Emperor of Dune.

Oh yea the Ole Spider987 guy going off on his BSG rants. Those were annoying as heck. I am with you Wes on a Dune miniseries or even some kind of miniseries dealing with the Dragon riders of Pern or some other fantasy type series. As long as it does not come out like a SciFi Saturday night made for tv movie.

Glad the show's wrapping up.
If they wanna make a new series, why not the Vlad Taltos series by Steven Brust? That would make for some excellent TV...

so does this mean the door is still open for the prequel they mentioned a few months back??? It will be sad to see the show go but better for it to bow out while it's at the top instead of dragging on and on like some shows.

Actually the quote about Earth is very weird. He's like.... "They will find an Earth, some form of Earth, they think it will be Earth, or at least say it's Earth".

Very weird to me.

As long as it's not the Earth of 1980....

chemikillgod • Jun 05, 2007, 11:59am •
yes, it will be bizarro-earth

Edward James Olmos claimed the new Galactica was cancelled...then David Eick denied it. Next, Ron Moore, David Eick and The Sci-Fi Channel claimed that they chose to end the show...but other sources claim that the show was simply cancelled by the network and NBC/Universal...and not the producers...who BTW, work for them.

Nobody seems to be able to keep their story straight here!!! Hence, as I have said before...I think its just another cheap publicity stunt by Ron Moore and David Eick, similar to the folks behind Jericho...which aintitcoolnews.com is now claiming has been unofficially renewed as a mid season replacement show!!!

Well, so much for the "pretend cancellations"!!! Hell, I guess they gotta drum-up publicity somehow. Oh, the lies!!!

BTW-2: Ron Moore's reference to Earth clearly confirms it...they are going to find a Planet Of The Apes Earth...post World War 3. This being an idea by the fans...not Moore and crew. It's either that, or they'll find an Earth that the Cylons already have taken over and fully populate!!!
