Moore Talks More BSG Final Season in EW

I'm sure a lot of you pick up Entertainment Weekly but if you don't and you are a Battlestar Galactica fan, you may want to. Their latest issue had a two page picture of the final season stars in a set photo which resembles "The Last Supper" painting.

In that picture, there were a number of clues which executive producer Ronald D. Moore handled questions with EW's Adam V. Vary. Questions such as who that final Cylon will be and if he/she is in the picture. There's also clues on future storylines with the characters by the gestures they give in said photo...

I'll put the pic below. Not sure why EW hasn't published this interview up at their website yet but it's in the latest issue of their magazine.

Things to notice:

There's a missing person (slot) at #10 on the left hand side

The new version of Number Six is on the left behind Roslin pointing to someone.

Starbuck and Anders are getting cozy near the center while everyone else ignores them.

#7 really likes that knife...

Sharon and Helo are giving someone the evil eye (Moore: “the person they’re looking at is definitely reacting.”)

Thanks to fellow Maniac Snallygaster for pointing this out.

I`m really looking forward to this final season. All I want to know is if its going to split like they said it would, which means we`d have to wait like a year for the full season or is it going to be all in one season?

I believe it's now split, Pony. The WGA strike was the issue which broke the camel's back on that one.

Moore planned to film the mid-season cliffhanger around Thanksgiving and I'm sure he got that one done since it was already scripted out fully before the Oct 31 deadline but the second half of the season will be delayed due to the strike.

I remember doing news for it back in November so unless there has been an update, that's where it stands for now.

Well, that sucks.

I'm guessing the missing person is either Dee or Gaeta. Dee would make some sense since the open chair is next to Apollo and they are no longer together. I haven't watched much of Season Three since I spent most of it getting caught up on the previous seasons, but I do know they have divorced. I did make a point to watch the final episode of Season Three and it has to be one of the best season finales of any show I have ever seen.

I'm pretty sure that's Number Three (Lucy Lawless) doing the pointing on the left, not Number Six (Tricia Helfer.)

The missing person could also be Roslin's assistant, Tory Foster. Given the ending of Season 3, she would seem to be important next year, and yet is absent in this picture.

nrollins,

Good call on suggesting Tory. She's another strong possibility. I do think the woman pointing on the left is Number Six, but I think that's the Gina version from the Pegasus. I'm betting she's pointing at Helo and Sharon given the hint from Moore that the person they are looking at is reacting to their "evil eyes."

nrollins • Jan 08, 2008, 06:58am •
Yeah, my mistake. I looked at a larger resolution and that's indeed a Six. I had forgotten they 'boxed' the Three series anyway (maybe Xena wanted out of the show.) But I am pretty confident Tory is missing, since Moore has confirmed she is one of the Final Five.

ponyboy76 • Jan 08, 2008, 07:10am •
Well, that`s definitely not the Gina version from the Pegasus, because I`m pretty sure that she blew herself up with that nuclear device Baltar gave her and since there was no ressurection ship in the vicinity she died. Moore did say that there would be a new version of Number Six introduced this season.

Correction: I just checked EW's website and there are a few notable hints in the larger version of the pic. First, the new version of Six is named Natalie and is NOT the Gina version from the Pegasus. Natalie becomes the leader of a group of Cylons with their own agenda. Second, the open chair refers to the final Cylon who has yet to be revealed, so it can't be Tory's chair. If you want to check out the full pic with all the hints here's the link:
