It looks like Paramount Pictures and Marvel Studios headed to the Big Apple as well in the final month before they unleash the 3D release of Captain America: The First Avenger. On top of the planned Los Angeles re-shoots earlier this month, the two producers likewise had a sequence filmed in New York's Time Square for a sequence between Chris Evan's hero and S.H.I.E.L.D's Nick Fury (Samuel L. Jackson). Insiders have speculated that this could be an after-credit scene for the July 22 release that paves the seque between it and next summer's The Avengers (which began shooting today). Superhero Hype has revealed some new set videos and photos from the New York shoot from this weekend.

Check out some down below as well as more here and here.

Captain America stars Chris Evans, Hayley Atwell, Hugo Weaving, Sebastian Stan, Toby Jones, Samuel L. Jackson, Dominic Cooper, Tommy Lee Jones, Stanley Tucci, Derek Luke and Neal McDonough. Helmer Joe Johnston led in the director's chair, based on a script by Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely.

Cannot wait for this movie !   That being said I am not going to look at anymore pictures or read anymore stories related to the production.  I've seen enough.  I'm sold.  Captain America : The First Avenger and Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows (part 2) a week apart = The best summer EVER !!!

I'm almost finding it hard to believe that I'm actually going to finally get to see Captain America on the big screen. Those of you out there who have grown up seeing super heroes on the big screen can't comprehend how it was back in the 70s as a kid. We'd read these comic books and imagine would a movie would be like. When Superman hit the big screen I was hoping that all my favorite heroes would be next, but all I got were two bad Captain America TV movies that weren't true to canon at all. I know people expect the world to end on December 21, 2012 and that's fine with me as long as Avengers comes out before that!

Man I was downtown when this was being shot, wish I'd known. Must be Marvel's staple after credits scene since Fury is here with Rogers

I'm with you wessmith, 10 years ago I would've said all this was just a pipe dream but here we are.

Is it possible to get the internet any more stoked for the upcoming Marvel movies? It feels like I'm about to explode with anticipation!

Jackson needs to suck in that belly. Or, at least, try...LOL!!!

MisterPL 4/25/2011 7:23:03 AM

I'm afraid that IS Jackson sucking in his gut.

Actually, Cap was in a big screen movie in 1990, only it never got released and went straight to video. Starred Matt Salinger. Had a few big names in it. I thought it was a pretty faithful representation, but suffered from a low budget. Hence, no shield throwing, no real SPFX to speak of. But not a bad story.

Check it out here.

Wessmith and Wiseguy, I'm old enough to be with you guys on this!

@Batmite...yeah, I know I have a copy of that movie. I was just referring to when I was a kid in the 70s. I was in a movie theater in the late 80s when they should the teaser (just a shield and words) for the Captain America movie. I was shocked and then excited only to be let down when it went straight to VHS. It was a little faithful although the Red Skull was Italian in the movie. Big f-up on that one. Still, even as bad as that movie was is was still very cool to see Captain America on the screen.

@monkeyfoot...Glad there are a couple people out there who understand my feelings for these movies.

That's a Shield emblem on Steve's t-shirt. Hopefully we won't have to wait until the Avenger's to see the updated Cap uniform.
