I really like Captain America's new suit.

Is it just me or was Hawkeye drawing his bow with his other arm in Thor?  Hmmmmm.....

WarCry 9/29/2011 8:51:05 PM

Yes, he was drawing right handed in Thor, he's left-handed here. But he's a master archer. I can easily see him being ambidexterous....

It's not just you.  It could be that the EW image is reversed.  With no visible text on the taxi and Black Widow shooting with both hands, it's impossible to tell.  It could also be that the Thor image was reversed.  In Thor, Barton was initially carrying his bow in his right hand before he got into the cradle.  It was only after he was drawn up by the crane that he was shown holding the bow left handed.  Image reversal is done for asthetic perposes all the time.

These pics are a hell of a lot better than that cover.  That is beyond horrible.

I think we need some Hulk photos.

WarCry 9/29/2011 9:58:29 PM

Just for the record, the draw-hand is how you tell how you're shooting archery. He was shooting right-handed in Thor, and left-handed in the photo above.

If you do a quick search, it looks like Renner is left-handed, so unless they WERE trying to establish him being ambidexterous, the footage in Thor was likely flipped. Another clue is the taxi in the above picture: It's a Crown Victoria, and the keyhole is in the correct place, so that image is NOT flipped.

Yes, I AM a geek.

BunyonSnipe 9/30/2011 12:21:57 AM

Well I'm guessing the stuntman that doubled Renner in Thor was right handed...

Dodgyb2001 9/30/2011 1:19:23 AM

Archery isn't down to what hand you use, it's down to what EYE you use. People who are left handed might be right-eyed and vice versa. Try forming a triangle with your thumbs and forefingers and look through it at a distant object with both eyes open. Then close one eye. If you still see it with the open eye, that's your dominant eye.

xenomorph 9/30/2011 4:14:06 AM

Good god people! You are arguing over which hand Renner pulls a bow string with! It is so insignificant compared to everything else in the whole movie!

kinetoscope 9/30/2011 5:37:24 AM

I spent some of my younger years in Archery, my 11 year old son is currently in his third year of taking lessons in Archery. That being said... Who cares what arm who shoots with. I believe when this movies comes out and we see it.... there will be 100 things better to enjoy. (that being said, it is fun to pick apart every little piece of a movie that we can't wait to see).
