Just a day after the producers of the new BATTLESTAR GALACTICA talked about the directions they and co-creator Bryan Singer (X-MEN) were going to be taking with some of the GALACTICA mythos, comes word Singer is doing more than helping to revive the 1970s genre icon: he's directing the two hour pilot.

In a quick interview with the Hollywood Reporter regarding his decision to direct, Singer said, "Our goal is to take the GALACTICA franchise and move it forward in both style and character while bringing the scope and sensibility of epic science fiction filmmaking to the small screen."

The results will be seen when the two hour premiere hits both the Sci Fi Channel and the USA Network.
