With Green Lantern set to fly into theaters this Friday, Warner Bros. Pictures is pushing out some more last-minute marketing material for their summer tent pole starring Ryan Reynolds. Check out one of the last TV spots before the film comes out down below. You can also watch a new featurette below courtesy of ComingSoon. The action-adventure also stars Blake Lively, Peter Sarsgaard, Mark Strong, Angela Bassett, Tim Robbins, Michael Clarke Duncan, Temuera Morrison, Jay O. Sanders, Taika Waititi, Jon Tenney and Geoffrey Rush. Helmer Martin Campbell led the direction, based on a screenplay by Greg Berlanti, Michael Green, Marc Guggenheim and Michael Goldenberg.

Plot Concept: In a universe as vast as it is mysterious, a small but powerful force has existed for centuries. Protectors of peace and justice, they are called the Green Lantern Corps. A brotherhood of warriors sworn to keep intergalactic order, each Green Lantern wears a ring that grants him superpowers. But when a new enemy called Parallax threatens to destroy the balance of power in the Universe, their fate and the fate of Earth lie in the hands of their newest recruit, the first human ever selected: Hal Jordan (Reynolds). Hal is a gifted and cocky test pilot, but the Green Lanterns have little respect for humans, who have never harnessed the infinite powers of the ring before. But Hal is clearly the missing piece to the puzzle, and along with his determination and willpower, he has one thing no member of the Corps has ever had: humanity. With the encouragement of fellow pilot and childhood sweetheart Carol Ferris (Lively), if Hal can quickly master his new powers and find the courage to overcome his fears, he may prove to be not only the key to defeating Parallax...he will become the greatest Green Lantern of all.

Only about 62 hours til I see first hand so I'll just wait for the real thing.

HunterRose 6/14/2011 7:56:15 AM

 Can't wait!!

Out of everything I've seen, the only thing I don't like is Ryan Reynolds grunt/scream "Green Lantern's Light!" when reciting the oath.

Otherwise, the previews kick butt!  I can't wait for this!

I think im already getting tired of the color Green!

Me and the kids are going to see this regardless, but it is troubling that WB put an embargo on critics reviews until the day before it opens.  I'm hoping for the best though.  Thor was a pleasant surprise and I hope the same for GL.

violator14 6/14/2011 4:02:18 PM

hmmm.... that is troubling. Hopefully more so because it's a comic book movie and they're worried about harsh criticisms, especially because of the recent quality of Xmen and Thor. OR most likely it's cuz it sucks.........    =(

Wiseguy 6/14/2011 4:35:57 PM

Well the latest trailer has these quotes "thrilling" "compelling" "action packed" and "dynamic" from highly reputable sources like madeinhollywood, fandango and hollywoodcloseup ;-> Ok not exactly the sources most would like to quote nor the best endorsemments you can get considering that WB hand-picked exactly which quotes they wanted.

But so what. This is a big fantasy comic book based film and it isn't exactly the stuff most critics like or care for. I'll take a compelling, thrilling, action packed dynamic film about GL any day of the week with all the flaws it may have and be a happy camper.

In brightest day, in blackest night,
No douche critics shall escape my sight
Let those who talk shit,
Beware my power... Green Lantern's light! Bitches

violator14 6/14/2011 4:40:35 PM

LOL Wise. U always know how to put things in perspective. "Green Lantern's light! Bitches" bwahahaha

What I personally find hard to oversee is that Reynold's way of playing "funny" scenes just remind me A LOT of the way he played that fake deadpool character in X-origins... I believe this could be a good comic-based movie, just don't think Reynolds was the best choice to play Hal Jordan...

Mooncrow 6/15/2011 1:21:20 AM

I'm giving it a chance with Reynold playing the sort of recent development that Batman dislikes Jordan because having no fear,  makes Jordan a maniac in Batman's eyes.
