More info coming out about INDIANA JONES evolution

It looks like some light is being shed on the tortured development of INDIANA JONES 4, which has finally got a bona-fied writer in Frank Darabont, and a bona-fied release date, July 4, 2005.
It seems the rumors of playwright Tom Stoppard, filmmaker M. Night Shyamalan and the pre-confirmed Darabont buzz was all true. As it happens, Steven Spielberg has been pushing for Shyamalan (SIXTH SENSE, the upcoming SIGNS), while Ford was pulling for Stoppard to write it. But Lucas, who penned the story that sparked the interest of Ford and Spielberg for a fourth chapter, wanted YOUNG INDIANA JONES vet Darabont. And look who won.
