Some more, admittedly spotty, information is beginning to come out of the production for the SPIDER-MAN follow-up, now known only as SPIDER-MAN 2.

According to ENTERTAINMENT WEEKLY, Kirsten Dunst has indicated Dr. Octopus will be menacing Spidey in the second outing, which starts shooting in January of 2003.

''They were thinking of two [villains] in the next one, which is a good idea,'' Kirsten Dunst said. It also seems there's a reference to another villain in the May 3 SPIDER-MAN. Seems the young Peter Parker can't keep a job, and is fired by Dr. Connors, known to Spidey fans as the eventual Lizard. Dunst did seems to confirm this by saying one of the villains for SPIDER-MAN 2 is "a lizard thing."
