More Mutants in WOLVERINE?

Previous reports had only two major characters from Wolvie's past showing up in the upcoming origin-like adaptation of WOLVERINE. Sabertooth(originally played by Tyler Mane in X-MEN) and William Stryker (originally played by Bryan Cox in X-MEN 2). Not so fast, says sources from 20th Century Fox and IESB. Apparently, some more mutants may be appearing in the film then previously though.

Good news for fans, while this is a spin-off from the X-Men films that will feature Logan aka Wolverine, 20th Century Fox is planning to debut some of the most beloved mutants from the X-Universe in the film. I can’t divulge which mutant will make his/her big screen debut but all I will say that it’s my favorite mutant ever, enough said for now.

Casting for the fourth mutant film is expected to start within the next 30 days.

Filming for WOLVERINE begins this November and Fox is setting it up for a 2008 release.

Come on! Are we finally getting to see Gambit in a french part of Canada? He never made it to any of the previous movies.

I also bet that it is Gambit or maybe Alpha Flight. Its obviously someone that hasn`t been in any of the previous movies. Logan has a long history with plenty of mutants so it could be almost anyone.

Fred J Dukes aka The Blob and Im pretty sure Gambit also are in the film, when JoBlo reviewed the original script it had Blob in there...if my memory is correct.

Tacid, he suggested French Canada because Remy LeBeau is a French-descended name, and Gambit has traditionally been depicted with a french/creole manner of speaking. If a large part of Wolverine takes place in Canada, it wouldn't be surprising if they revised Gambit a bit to have him coming from a territory like Quebec.

It could easily be Gambit...just because he's from Louisiana doesn't me he can ONLY be in Louisiana until he joins the X-Men. Folks do travel... For that matter, is anyone 100% certain that Logan won't end up in the Big Easy at some point?

All I ask is that they let Wolverine be Wolverine in this film.... Even in the comics the Canuckle head has a softer side, but why are we dwelling on it... Give me the savage Wolvie on screen...

Savage Wolverine = Potential R Rating R Rating = Smaller potential audience Using the transitive property from high school geometry, we can then therefore say: Savage Wolverine = Smaller Potential Audience If we need to go even further with it: Smaller Potential Audience = Won't Happen Therefore: Savage Wolverine = Won't Happen

My vote is definitely for Alpha Flight, also, since it makes the most sense for the rumored setting. Then again, the last movie had Omega Kid as some kind of porcupine, so "sense" may not be a factor. The ideal situation for me would be the story starting off in the bayou, picking up Gambit, then heading off to do whatever. Or, running into Gambit at some seedy bar in French-Canada where's he's hustling foos at cards. Either way, GAMBIT, GAMBIT, GAMBIT!!
