RESIDENT EVIL series creator Shinji Mikami recently had an interview in Weekly Famitsu, in which he discussed the series' new home on the Nintendo GameCube.

According to him, the only complete remake of a RESIDENT EVIL game will be the first game. The other three games (RESIDENT EVIL 2 and 3, and CODE: VERONICA) will all be ports. " The three titles will be ports," Mikami said in the interview. "If we remake them, it will take a while until [RESIDENT EVIL] 4 will be released. I'm sure the users are eagerly awaiting RESIDENT EVIL 4, so please bear with the ports."

He also stated that RESIDENT EVIL 0 will come out one year after the first game hits in the GameCube, which is set for spring 2002 in Japan.
