There's a new round of casting rumors on 'Thor'. PLUS: The latest episode of 'Batman: The Brave and the Bold' is online. Also Jackson and Spielberg talk 'Tintin'. Waking up with Russell Brand hair, it's your Comics2Film 9.3.17!

Spielberg and Jackson talk TINTIN

The official 'Tintin' website has posted a video of filmmakers Peter Jackson and Steven Spielberg. The pair, who are collaborating on an ambitious CGI feature-film trilogy, are seen wearing bowlers and riffing on the Thom(p)sons. They don't actually say much about the movies. They're there to introduce the Angouleme International Comics Festival and the opening of the Herge museum. But it's a fun clip for the 'Tintin' fans out there.

BRAVE/BOLD - "Mystery in Space" online

If you missed last Friday's episode of 'Batman: The Brave and the Bold', called "Mystery in Space", you can now catch it online. In it, Aquaman joins Batman in a thrilling space adventure on Adam Strange's home planet of Rann.  There our heroes join forces to battle Gordanian General Kreegaar and his reptilian horde. It’s the power of justice and a good old fashioned fight that resurrects Aquaman’s heroism as he leads the team to on a mission to destroy the Eye of Zared!

The Question also appears in the show's opening teaser.

Watch it on the Cartoon Network website now!

Rumored THOR Cast List

At the Deadline Hollywood blog, Nikkie Finke runs through the latest casting rumors on 'Thor' and adds some names to the list.

According to Finke, there is an inexplicable "big push" to get Josh Hartnett in the movie. While other websites have called Hartnett for the role of Loki, Finke reports that he may be under consideration for the lead role.

According to her report, other Thunder God candidates that are being screen-tested include:

  • Charlie Hunnam ('Sons Of Anarchy')
  • Tom Hiddleston ('The Gathering Storm')
  • Alexandar Skarsgard (tipped previously by several sites)
  • Liam Hemsworth ('The Expendables')
  • Joel Kinnaman ("some Danish dude," according to Finke)

And here's one last name to get the fans buzzing: Finkie hears that Natalie Portman has been cast as the female lead.

Thanks to Antonello Blueberry for the submission.

I don't know about anyone else but I'd much rather have "Some Danish Dude" as Thor than Harnett as either Thor or Loki. Maybe an ice giant or Balder or maybe Donald Blake...

Oh shit Charlie Hunnam is alive and being considered for Thor?  Damn.  I haven't seen that guy since he played Lloyd in the awesome series Undeclared.  Damn you Fox for canceling that and Freaks & Geeks!  He didn't look like Thor then but I haven't seen him in Sons of Anarchy.

Doing a quick Google image search tells me that Skarsgard and Hemsworth look closest to the role. The Hiddleston fellow has an evil and gangly look that would be great for Loki. We'll just see what we'll see.

hanso, with as much deserving love that you give to 'Children of Men' you think you'd know Hunnam was in that film.... he also played a good d-bag in 'Cold Mountain'. I'm going for Skarsgard. I do think Hunnam has the look. 'Sons of Anarchy' is a pretty damn good show, usually have to watch it OnDemand though 'cos I never know what time FX shows are on.

I'm always fine with Natalie Portman.... Have you guys heard "Natalie Raps" yet? Didn't think my attraction to her could increase.

I m pretty sure Freaks & Geeks was on NBC but they pulled a fox and canned it after one season. What a great show. Never seen undeclared but heard good things. Havent seen cold mountain loved children of men and Charlie Hunnam would be a good thor. Although I'm routing for the Skarsgards as Thor and Odin. Oh and Hunnam was top notch in Green Street Hooligans with E. Wood. It is a must see film talk about character transformation in its rawest form. Tin tin news was fucking pointless. I aint mad at cha Rob. stay up guys.

Damn I gotta get my facts straight today.  You are right, Freaks & Geeks was on NBC, I just blame Fox for everything canceled :)

Gonna have to watch Children of Men again to see what he played in it, I saw some pics of Sons of Anarchy, he don't look like the guy from Undeclared no more so maybe that's why I missed him on Children.

"considering Hartnett as Thor"???? WTF!!!??  Why even consider it? i hope they realize how ludarcris this is once they put the big blonde wig on him. haha

stupidmania 3/17/2009 10:40:55 AM

Alexander skarsgard is the only one that looks close to thor and that would be the ultimate version. we just have to bulk him up.

hannibalking 3/17/2009 10:54:07 AM

I was going to say how I'd rather have Hulk screw me in a very uncomfortable place (like in the back of a Volkswagen) with a raging you know what than see Hartnett as Thor, but I'll just leave it as - PLEASE GOD NO!

xenomorph 3/17/2009 12:21:58 PM

Skarsgard should be Thor. Hartnett can't be the god of thunder, he's as about as intimedating as Tophier grace was as Venom.
