More Time to Get LOST

ABC has announced that the series LOST will offer 17 hours per year for the 2009 and 2010 seaon -- not the previously planned 16 hours.
The network added two hours to the show's production plan because the WGA strike knocked three hours out of the current season. To partly compensate, the network recently added an additional hour to Part 2 of the season finale that airs May 29th.

LOST co-creator Damon Lindelof said in a statement,  "We were supposed to do 16-16-16.  But we ended up doing 14 this season, so we owe two."  He went on to add there will be an action-driven cliffhanger instead of the mind-bending flash-forward time shift that stunned fans last season.

Lindelof ruled out the show extending beyond the remaining 34-episode order.

He adds, "The finale this year will not be as tricky as last year. Hopefully, this year it's a little bit more of a straightforward action-adventure narrative. But the ending of the episode will hopefully engage and intrigue people looking forward to the next season of the show.”

Matthew Gilbert of The Boston Globe noted this, “Three more years is a long time, even with the assurance of a predetermined end date. Forty-eight episodes is a whole lot of story line. Also, the show will still be running the risk of wearing out its welcome, as it lingers on the pop-cultural landscape. "The Sopranos" is a good example of a series that has been so obsessed over, and so hyped, for so many years that even many fans are tired of hearing about it now that it's nearing its June end.”

Hell's yeah bitches! Lost owns all! Last night episode "Cabin Fever" was frakkin awesome. Yo that shit blew my mind, still thinking about it. If you missed it go online cause that was frakkin awesome. I can't wait for the review to be up, so I'll talk about it here. ****************Spoilers******************

First, I'm glad we got to see Abaddon again, He hadn't shown up since I don't know when, last scene I remember of him was telling Naomi who she was taking to the island. I hope we get to learn more from him in the future seasons. Thought it was hella cool he's the one that gives Locke his walkabout idead. So what up, Abaddon has a connection with the island, Other, Widmore's crew, Dharma, what!?
The Island already knew of Locke since he was a baby, WTF? Richard the Immortal has been finally confirmed the dude doesn't age.
I thought the time concept was all over this episode, Richard telling Locke to pick the items that belonged to him, as if everything had already happened. The doctor getting killed even though the peeps on the island had already seen him dead last week or the week before, don't remember. The second protocol Kimmey uses and says Widmore already knew where Ben was going, again like if Widmore and Ben for that matter can see the future or have lived the events before. On Ben's episode he says "that wasn't suppopsed to happen" like he knew what was suppose to take place.
My fave friendly ghost, Christian still hanging around Jacob's Cabin but now with Claire. Any of you guys think Claire might have bit the dust when the Barracks where attack back in Ben's episode? If Christian's ghost can pick up Aaron, maybe Claire can also. I'm not sure but the crew that remained at the barracks could see ghosts, ie John, ben, Hurley, Miles. The only one that hasn't been confirmed yet is Sawyer. Seemed strange she was just chillin at the Cabin. Hope we get to see Jacob before the season is over.
Anyway, great Episode in my humble opinion. Watch the reviewer give it a C+ next article.

Lost has been killer! Loved last night's episode as well. My take on the cabin was that Christian is somehow still alive and not a ghost at all. But now that you mentioned it Claire could very well be dead. In the sneak peek for next week you hear Sawyer say that Claire didn't make it. So that very well may be the case. I loved kid Locke's drawing of the black smoke. That was funny to see. Can't wait for these last 3 eps.

Locke's episodes always tend to be more mystical in nature, and last night's was no exception. It definitely set up whatever action is to come in the finale, and I have no idea how literally we're supposed to take Locke's line about having to move the island. Is it possible this course of events is what Hurley had referred to back in the season premiere about staying with Jack and his group? Could Locke's efforts result in killing some of the survivors instead of the soldiers returning to the island? How big of a twist would THAT be?

I have no idea how to explain Christian's connection to Jacob though. Usually I cook up some crazy theory every week, but I am at a loss this time. I was a little surprised he didn't identify himself as "Christian Shepherd" though. If Locke knew that Jack's dad was alive somehow (or at least not fully dead) I think that would've made for an awesome turn of events. Either way, last night's episode was excellent and I can't wait to see how the finale sets up next season.

Yeah, last night's episode was great. SPOILER - I'm betting that Jacob is actually Locke in some other time period. Or maybe Locke is the reincarnation of The rich billionaire who started the Dharma Initiative.

Is it wrong to be glad that Cain failed so that Nestor Campbell was able to reprise his role as Richard Alpert?

Apparently the Lost producers waited too long to sign him to a long term contract as they were not sure how they were going to use the character, and he signed on with Cain. Cain's producers and/or maybe CBS (I think) were not going to let him appear on another network. Their excuse was that they wanted viewers to associate him only with Cain.

Hopefully the Lost powers that be, got him locked in for the duration.

I'm happy because other than a few slow episodes to start season 3, Lost has been the best show on TV in my opinion.

I'm glad the show has seemed to get back on track. I think it helped getting a definite end date. Now, they can work toward a definite conclusion. X-Files could have benefitted from doing the same.
