A few days back, word on the web was that the Kree and Skrull alien races from the Marvel Universe would figure into the Avengers movie storyline.
Most doubted the rumor and now Superhero Hype has debunked it. The site checked with their sources who attribute the story to "a research error" on the part of the Albuquerque Journal, the newspaper that initially started the rumor. So don't hold your breath for the "Kree/Skrull War" storyline to play out on the big screen in 2012. Could still happen but it seems pretty unlikely.
The other Avengers rumor of the week has Disney princess Demi Lovato "up for a role" in the film. However, Heat Vision checked in with both the starlet's people and with Marvel. Both camps say there is no truth to the stories. In fact, Lovato being in rehab is sort of hampering her from talking about new movie roles with any producers right now.
Heat Visions sources do admit that Marvel is looking for another lady to break up the sausage party that is currently the cast of the film, and that may mean a Scarlet Witch, Hellcat or Wasp could appear in the film.
Spinoff is reporting that curvy Mad Men actress Christina Hendricks is a fan of Wonder Woman. Apparently there was some fan campaign to put her in the role, which spun into a rumor that she was somehow flirting with the role.
On Tuesday's Rachel Ray show, the host asked her about the internet talk.
"I just heard that rumor, too," Hendricks told Ray. "I don’t know where it got started, but I love it. [...] I’ve been wanting to wear that outfit my whole life. I had Underoos — I had Wonder Woman Underoos."
Later, when asked if she would want the part in the planned TV series, Hendricks replied, "Oh, I’d love to. That would be so much fun."
So, you can add Hendricks to a long list of actresses (such as Eliza Dushku, Jennifer Love Hewitt, Jennifer Aniston, etc) who have made the off-hand comment that they would like to play Wonder Woman given the chance, but otherwise have no real attachment to the role.
Comic Book Movie have uncovered a number of new, close-up photos from the set of X-Men: First Class.
The images first appeared on Facebook page of Joe Cuzan, who seems to be working on the movie. They show a close up view of the "Crashed Blackbird" set that we've seen before.
We're not trying to start a rumor here, but the images of the blackbird crashed on a tropical beach keep making us think of Krakoa, the mutant who manifests itself as a living island and was the catalyst for the super-successful reinvention of the X-Men in the Giant Size X-Men #1. We have not other reason to believe that that storyline will come into play in First Class, mind you.
Cuzan also posted storyboards from the film.
We've captured one photo here, but click through for the rest...
