More Yawara Still Unlicensed

AnimEigo's Robert Woodhead made a new posting on Twitter today talking about the status of their release of Yawara, A Fashionable Judo Girl. The company released the first set of 40 episodes back at the end of 2008 with no word about any follow-up sets since then, which is closing in on eighteen months. Most fans assumed that AnimEigo was working on more episodes at the pace that they're famous for, but according to the tweet, that's not so:

"It is with deep regret that we must announce that so far, we have not been able to secure a license to release the rest of Yawara."

Methinks the delay might have something to do with the popularity of Naoki Urasawa's other titles (namely Monster and 20th Century Boys). As such, the Japanese licensors are probably asking for more money for the Yawara license, money that Animeigo doesn't have. (My first thought was, "Animeigo's still making anime?")
