Moroccan Set Photos for PERSIA

By: Jarrod Sarafin

There's nothing really exciting about the latest edition of set photos for Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time courtesy of Korbo.info. Still, on a slow Labor day where most outlets are taking the day off, this gives you readers something to talk about. The site uploaded some exterior shots of Ait Ben Haddou, the location where a lot of filming is expected to take place.

To check them out, click here.

The film stars
Jake Gyllenhaal, Gemma Arterton, Alfred Molina and Ben Kingsley. Director Mike Newell is leading the Jerry Bruckheimer-produced adaptation of the best-selling Ubisoft video game, based on a screenplay by Doug Miro, Carlo Bernard, Jordan Mechner and Boaz Yakin.

Plot Summary: In the fantasy adventure based on Ubisoft's popular video game, Gyllenhaal will play Dastan, a young prince in sixth century Persia who must join forces with Tamina (Arterton), a feisty and exotic princess, to prevent a villainous nobleman from possessing the Sands of Time, a gift from the gods that can reverse time and allow its possessor to rule the world.

Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time will hit theaters May 28, 2010.

They are F***ing ruining this movie! Jake Gyllenhaal, Gemma Arterton? Are they F***ing kidding? The POP is NOT WHITE! He is Middle Eastern! At least cast someone who looks Middle Eastern for F*** sake! This is as bad as when they made "Kingpin" black and "Elecktra" white! Plus if you're gonna go white on this, which I still think is F***ing stupid and will ruin the movie, but if you're gonna do it then Orlando Bloom is the obvious choice! F***ing Hollywood F**heads, they F*** up absolutley everything! EVERY-F**ING-THING!

Jake isn't John McCain white. Nothing a little bit of tanning can't solve or a little bit of make-up.
Persians are more of a mix of races than you think. You'd probably find a good share of white folk as dark skinned and any shade in between.
I think Newell can do this justice, he's done some good stuff before and IMO did a good job with HP.

Have you guys ever seen an actual Persian? They're not Arabic. They're actually pretty fair skinned traditionally. In fact while I was initially skeptical of the idea, Gylenhaal looks remarkably similar to the Prince on the cover of the second game. Notafan, you need to calm down a bit. Persians prior to the fall of Babylon were fair skinned for the most part. Genetic blending through conquest, migration and intermingling with nearby nations has had some impact, but unless you have an anthropology degree, I think your perception of what a Persian should look like may be a bit misguided.

Orlando Bloom in no way, shape or form resembles the Prince of Peria, so I'm not sure where you came up with that. Settle down. The film will be good. Hollywood didn't write the script, Jordan Mechner who created the franchise did. Stop reviewing films before they're shot. People assumed that Heath Ledger wasn't right for the Joker, and we all know how that turned out.

Man, I don't know what you peeps are talking about but Gylenhall looked hot in that picture as the Prince. Yes, I did just say hot. Don't be acting like I'm lying cause you guys thought it also when you saw the pic. I think that pic made us all a little gay that day. Or maybe just me? Now that I think about it, you know how I know I'm gay? I think about Gyllenhall as the Prince.

Scythe is right, Gyllenhall does look like the Prince from Prince of Persia: Warrior Within. Even had the clothes and all.
I hope the movie turns out fucking great and makes tons of cash so maybe Hollywood can start taking video game movies more seriously and stop giving them to Uwe Boll.

i agree with hanso he looked good in the pic as the prince but im very skeptical of everything else, although this a bruckheimer flick im sure it'll make alot of money ,still jake's not the man for the part.
just like tobey was the wrong choice for spiderman ,jake's the wrong choice for prince

WE HAVE YET SEEN A GREAT VIDEO GAME MOVIE ,AND ITS NOT GONNA START WITH THIS FLICK YOU'LL SEE JUST BECAUSE ITS BRUCKHEIMER AND IT'LL MAKE $$$ DOESNT MEAN ITLL BE GOOD JUST LIKE STAR WARS EPISODE 1 2 3 ALL CGI,PRINCE WILL FOLLOW WITH THE HYPE ;WONT WORK

The Prince needs to be a free runner or whatever that sport is called. Gotta move like the guy in the beginning of Casino Royale Bond is chasing. I think the sport is called "parkour" or something, i can never remmber.

I don't think anyone has ever seen a persian, since Persia was a name invented by the greeks and that's not what they called themselves, plus the "Persians" were many different races, but Iran considers themselves of the same ancestory as what we would call a persian and some of them are fairly fair skinned.

Putting that aside it's a video game so isn't it doomed to failure anyway.
Let's hope it works and kicks ace.

scytheofluna... No sense in commenting on what dipshit NOTAFAN has to say...He does this on purpose, which is called trolling and childish and the only reason I know this is because all of his statements are negative bullshit in order to piss people off and then he never responds to comments directed at him after his initial comment and thus he sits there and fondles himself while reading the responses directed at him because he is a limp dick, narcissistic rubber chicken looking for some attention because his parents ignored his Igor looking ass and this is his way of now getting noticed...End of story and a fantastical story it is, ya baby!

Hanso...No I did not think Jake looked Hot in those pictures but I did think how plastic his body and muscles looked thus making me long for women even more but I digress and see your sarcasm has come through ten fold and now that I think about it, I have developed wood with the thoughts/images of that hot ass Jake dancing and frolicking in my minds eye...By the way, I don't think you have to worry about Uwe Boll getting his hands on anymore video game to movies adaptions, he's over with and will more than likely end up producing Sci-Fi tv shows and then maybe not...

Boll is directing "Far Cry" which is a video game adaptation. He ain't done yet it seems.
