It's good to see Jeri Ryan again, nice to see Sonja Blade not portrayed as a twenty something bimbo...
This is what Mortal Kombat movie should be a R rated movie, i liked it i bet that a DVD with all the episodes will be made. Cant wait for Scorpion and Sub Zero to make a appereance.
@middlerealm- your talking about the trailer where johnny cage dies right? I remember that too I thought it was going to be a tv show or something along the lines of a reboot movie series.
I still cant remember if the trailer was fake or not. Or weather it was just made in order to try and get something moving again.
OK I'm not a gamer and I don't get it. I thought MK was about a tournament of good vs evil forces, supernatural stuff or something like that. I only watched some bits and pieces of the movie so I have no idea..
Anyway that looks pretty good. It's cool watching Black Dynamite delivering ass whuppings. I'd like to see this lead to a film because the game I'm not interested in
The trailer was NOT a fake.
It was the proposal for a RE-boot of the MK franchise. New and upcoming directors fund these projects themselves or with private money to show off their idea's . In the case of MK , Warners liked it enough to fund a web series but not enough for other media ( TV , Movies ) . If you want to see this ever make it to cable even , support it . Watch it , tell other to watch it . Maybe then Hollywood will FINALLY get the point .
So the "fake" trailer was a production that was a profesionally made movie that was not sanctioned by Warner Bros. (I believe they own the rights to Mortal Kombat). It was made as a pitch to make a new movie or show based on the Mortal Kombat property, but set in a different "universe" almost like an "elseworlds" take on the MK universe. There's still a tournament, but this isn't strictly canon so to speak, it's a reinvention or reimagining of the story. There was such positive fan feedback that Warners decided to greenlight a web series based off the trailer from a year ago.
Did I miss something? I remember a 'fake' trailer a year or so ago with White and Ryan in it and thought it looked cool, but that was all it was. Now it's actually been made into a real web series? Or was it really real in the first place? I'm confused... :S
