It's always Zod talk.

nice reference to ghostbusters 2 Hanso!I can't watch Viggo Mortensen without thinking of the character from that movie!!!

If he's in this movie it will be better period!  no matter what character he plays.

Callum Blue as Zod from Smallville he was outstanding , if you must go the Kneel Before Zod route.

Yeah, could we maybe try a NEW villain that we haven't seen Superman face before?  That shouldn't be hard since that only eliminates Lex Luthor and Zod.

And curse you, Hanso, for making the Viggo joke before I could!!  LOL.

I'd like to see something like (and I know this isn't strictly canon, but...)...Luthor, after being thwarted by Superman yet again creates a super computer called Brainiac to devise a plan to destroy Superman. The plan is to first clone Superman, so Luthor hires a heavy-hitting villain like Parasite or Metallo to get a sample of Superman's DNA. This is done by using a kryptonite knife to cut Superman during battle and get a blood sample. Luthor and Brainiac use the blood to clone the man of steel. The clone is to be used to ruin Superman's reputation, setting the world governments (and their armies) against him. The clone is defective and becomes a crazed doppelganger of big blue that the Daily Planet names Bizzaro. Bizzaro knows of Superman's fondness for Lois (she's always around and gets the best stories) so he kidnaps her thinking if he can get her to love him this will prove he's the real Superman. Superman battles Bizzaro to free Lois and in the battle the twisted clone dies and Luthor is brought to justice. All the while Luthor and Brainiac were plotting Superman's destruction, Brainic, the most powerful computer on the planet, became self-aware. The end of the movies shows Brainiac creating a construct for itself becoming a living computer, setting up the next movie.

I will always like Lex as the bad guy in the background because he is Superman's arch nemesis. This movie would move Superman into new territory with new villains, give plenty of room for special effects, and set-up a second movie with Brainiac as the main villain. There would be no need for an origin movie because the opening sequence/titles would give Superman's history and his latest run-in with Lex.

After the end credits I'd have a scene where we see first his planet and then zooming down into a building to an over the shoulder shot of Darkseid (though you can't see all of him) looking into a monitor watching a clip of Superman's exploits and you Darkseid's gravely voice say something like "He will be mine."

How about Brainiac, and or Bizzaro?  I think we need something new for the big screen.

If there is a choice between Zod and Luthor, I will take Zod as long as they go a fresh direction. No matter what Luthor has to figure in at some point. What I really don't want is another flat out origin story, that is boring even to think about. It's far too soon to do a Doomsday movie, let that be a part 2 if we even get there.

Meh...kinda hope they don't go the Zod route again and find another villain (while keeping Luthor involved as an ACTUAL threat and not so fixated on real estate scams).

Actually...shave Viggo's head and he could make for a pretty good Luthor.  OR shave his head, attach some electrodes to it and voila: Brainiac.  He can do that calm, cold-calculating persona really well and then bring the hurt when it's needed (History of Violence/Eastern Promises, anyone?).

Hmmm...

Viggo is a good sign for the movie...Zod would be interesting with him taking the role. Someone mentioned Bruce Willis as Luthor. That would be too good to be true!
