I don't know, I thought Prometheus was a solid 3 star movie, B plus in my book.  I didn't have a problem with ambiguous surrounding characters, but you never want to have a female lead be as forgettable as that character was.  What saved it from being a 2 1/2 star, B minus movie was Michael Fassbender as David.  He was a fantastic character, and certainly gave Ian Holmes' Ashe a run for his money.  But yeah, the lead female character is what dropped Prometheus out of my A grade range.  The movie itself left me wanting more of the story, but I could really give a shit what happens to her...not a GREAT start, but I don't think it's entirely deserving of all the fan hate it got.

 Another thought - why do so many people hate Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter? I thought it was pretty awesome...lol.  Come on, B movies don't stop being B movies just because they get a decent budget.  Did you go see it hoping to see something serious?  I love it how seriously it took itself despite it's own ridiculous concept and nature.  I have friends who have read the book, and they've told me how they differ, but they all liked both book and movie equally.  

My argument isn't that Les belongs on this site.  It doesn't my argument is with the usage of the term.  I just want people to say that it doesn't belong on this site because it is not the right genre.  Not to say: it isn't a genre movie, because that doesn't make sense.  I guess I am being a grammer nazi.  It's just a pet peeve of mine.  One I have repeated said over the last 18 years I have been on this site.  One that people seemed to love to argue with me about.  I guess its like the best movie arguement.  Some people just love a movie and you can't understand why and some people just use words incorrectly and I can't understand why.  No biggy I just had to say it and I'll keep saying it for another 18 years.  It's just something I have to do.

Oh and I have Vampire Hunter sitting on my Player from Netflix and now I am wondering should I even bother.

 Apparently plenty of people will tell you "No", unbiased...I say go for it.  Yes, it's completely ridiculous and stupid, but pretty awesome at the same time.  If you approach it as a B movie, not as ordinary cinematic fare, you may enjoy it.

 and almostunbiased, there have been many instances where a generic term has been taken over to be used in more specific terms.  When it comes to film, the term "genre" has been adopted to refer to the type of movies we discuss here. Otherwise it would be asinine to even use the term. Take the word "diet" for instance, which is originally a word for any degree of caloric intake regardless if it is for use in weight loss, weight gain, or for someone just eating for the sake of eating.  Now, to "diet" is to eat with the goal of weight loss.  

 I had another post that seemed to disappear expressing my extreme distaste in the fact that "Les Miserables" was listed as the best movie of the year on this site.  Guess it was too colorful, haha.  But yeah... boo.  I come to this site for news and info on specific genres of film, and a historical musical that has been overplayed and hackneyed over the years is def not something I want to see as the best film of 2012 from this site.

Biggest let down would have to be Prometheus although it was above average ...

Abraham Lincoln Vamp Hunter was a bit of a let down and kinda crappy but it did have some action
