I've also been reading a lot of top ten lists by many critics over the past week and it's funny how no one has the balls to put in the Avengers on their list. What's mind boggling is most of the critics liked it at 92% on RT, one of the highest rated movies of the year. So where is it?

Genre movies get no respect.

I agree 100% with you, EIBaz!!!!

If "Return of the King" can win Best Picture, then there's no reason why Avengers can't at least get a nod from the Academy.....

TDKR ain't winning shit, mark it down. Well maybe some technical award at best like sound or something. Too many damn good films this year. Especially the kind that the Oscars usually gravitate towards. Films with actual meanings and substance

I hate to thrash films but I saw Premium Rush and that film was garbage, mildly entertaining, but garbage nevertheless.

Why is it getting an honorable mention?

BB was a well produced movie with that Year One vibe ... but I really didn't care for the action ... too blurry!

TDK had oscar material and probably is the only CBM of recent times that should have been nominated for an oscar. It did have slightly more depth than the usual CBM and ticked all the right boxes: direction, acting, score, cinematography, costume/setup, sound, etc ... i found it a tad long myself and was put off by the "cough-drop" voice and eye shadow ...

TDKR was the weakest with a storyline that didn't really gel together and just didn't have more to give ... no stand out moments or scenes ... it was still well produced and entertaining ... better than most of the genre movies of 2012 ...

I didn't really mind that batman was in his own nolan-verse but it was a bit sad to not have that liberal feeling of other heroes out there ... and now in hindsight it was an economically flawed decision with no hope of using the TDK popularity to launch the DCU ...

PS - is the name Catwoman actually mentioned in TDKR? if not, shes just a common burgular isnt she?
