MTV and Madonna fall for TWILIGHT

Stephanie Meyer's forthcoming teen novel TWILIGHT has been optioned by MTV Films and Maverick Films, the latter being Madonna and Guy Oseary's production company. Slated to be published in September 2005, Meyer's novel tells the story of a high school girl that falls for a vampire. When the enemies of her sweetheart's clan arrive in town, she must make a decision between abandoning him or becoming a creature of the night with him.

Meyer sold her debut novel last December to Little, Brown Children's department as part of a three book deal.
