MTV noms RINGS over all others

The 2002 MTV Movie Award nominations are out, and while they're not necessarily the most prestigious awards around, they can't be scoffed at when it comes to recognizing the most popular and influential trends in glossy Hollywood filmmaking.


So it comes as a mild surprise that Peter Jackson's THE LORD OF THE RINGS: THE FELLOWSHIP OF THE RINGS snagged six nominations. That's the most of any film in the running. Also up for nominations in such categories as Best Fight and Best Villain are THE FAST AND THE FURIOUS, QUEEN OF THE DAMNED and SHREK.
