MTV Films has picked up the feature rights to the videogame GETTING UP: CONTENTS UNDER PRESSURE.

Fashion pioneer Marc Ecko developed the game for Atari. Marc Ecko and Films' Gregg Goldin will produce.

Heavens to Mercutroid,
Futuristic, hi-tech, Grafitto writing Ganste-ROIDS?
Just great, just the kind of psuedo 'homage' to inspire
yet another generation of bad handmanship and delinquent wall scrawlers in the name of art. Watch out now, wannabes are gonna form in YOUR neighborhood.

"set in an alternate reality..."

Is it the alternate reality where MTV actually plays music videos?

So true, Snally. Ahh I remember when ...

While I can appreciate the culture of grafitti, especially after learning about it, this is a bit ridiculous. The game looks alright, but there is nothing that sounds remotely interesting about a movie of this game. Oh well, what can you do?

The "alternate reality" is that graffiti is in any way acceptable. These cockroaches come out in the middle of the night and deface anything they can fit some dumbass symbol on. God I wish somebody would put together a vigilnate team that would roam the streets at night and smash these punks in the act.
Rant over.

joeypsychotic, I too am glad your rant is over. I think you have graffiti art confused with tagging.

Sorry, but the words graffiti and art don't belong in the same sentence. So you approve of the "art" of painting giant-sized block lettering of varying shapes and colors across any wall or freeway sign with the unfortunate chance of being clean? I'm sure these people do consider it art, since it clearly takes much time to do. "Tagging" is almost tolerable, as it usually is done on a smaller "canvass", i.e. a lightpost or electrical box, and can't be seen from a half-mile away. Tell the people whose property is being vandalized that it's OK, it's only art. I'm sure that will make them feel much better.

I thought you said your rant was over. Are we talking art or vandalism? You seem to have the two confused.

P.S.

I guess if Picasso,Monet or Salvador Dali put their work "across any wall or freeway sign with the unfortunate chance of being clean" you wouldn't consider that art either.
