Leatherheads was a funny, subtle movie with great performances and a great script. I really liked it. I also enjoyed 21 quite a bit.

Splitting Superman: The Siegel Victory - Apr 02, 2008 - 05:01pm
Too bad Siegel and Shuster spent a portion of their lives financially destitute...not that anyone at DC corporate gave a rat's ass. Good for their estates, though...pay up DC!

Evil Children Attack in THE DAY - Mar 31, 2008 - 02:12pm
"Malicious children". Pfft. You know what you do to "malicious children"? You punt them like footballs, that's what.

Scott and DiCaprio Reteam for DWELLER - Mar 22, 2008 - 04:00pm
DiCaprio has become a man over the last 7 or so years...all these pictures with big directors like Scorsese have molded him into a truly talented actor. I would think any other leading man would be jealous of his career.

SERENITY- Better Days - Mar 14, 2008 - 12:14pm
I read the first series by Whedon and loved it. I'm looking forward to this coming out in trade format.

The Wire: End of an Era - Mar 11, 2008 - 05:18pm
Samson, I was upset about Dookie as well...here we have a good kid who eventually is abandoned by everyone he knows. Just heartbreaking.

Justin Long Dragged to Raimi's HELL - Mar 10, 2008 - 10:08am
Shia's a terrific young actor...but Justin Long has brilliant comedic timing. And no, Shia has no dirt on me.

In other words "Gee, another chance to make $30 million up front and a % of the backend...yeah, that'll work".

The Wire: End of an Era - Mar 10, 2008 - 09:55am
And so ends the best program on television. I'll miss "The Wire". It was simply exceptional.

Two More Gangsters for Mann's ENEMIES - Feb 22, 2008 - 04:45pm
Okay, THAT cast + Mann = pure kickassedness. PS--What's up with the awful "advertising" section at the top of each page? It's friggin awful and really detracts from the page.

VANTAGE POINT - Feb 22, 2008 - 04:41pm
Why listen to one review? It's just some guy's opinion. 90% of the reviews on this site are completely off anyway.

Perry's MARRIED Wins in DVD Sales - Feb 21, 2008 - 02:41pm
lol-You guys crack me up. I see that hack Tyler Perry is stuffing even more cash into his coffers. Pfft.

Good, 'cause this show surely sucked.

Snyder's Wrap Blog on WATCHMEN - Feb 20, 2008 - 03:36pm
Watchmen, along with Cerebus, are only the two greatest comics in history. I'm glad Snyder is handling this picture.

FANTASTIC FOUR #554 - Feb 17, 2008 - 02:20pm
The only thing Mark Millar and Bryan Hitch do for me on Fantastic Four is make me long for Mike Wieringo, Karl Kesel, and Mark Waid.

X-FORCE #1 - Feb 17, 2008 - 02:16pm
This book is so much crap. It encapsulates Marvel's need to ruin all their books by making them all "grim and gritty". And when you're not grim and gritty enough, you resort to killing to get the "oooh's and aaah's" from the reading public. And, of course, I'm quite sure that Professor X would appreciate his star pupil putting this team together. Utter bollocks.

AMERICAN GANGSTER - Feb 17, 2008 - 02:13pm
I loved how Denzel Washington and Russell Crowe grinned and hobnobbed with Frank Lucas in behind the scenes coverage of the movie. I guess they don't care that the drugs Lucas brought into the country killed many, many people. It almost sickens me.

Danny Huston Hunts After WOLVERINE - Feb 16, 2008 - 11:31am
I don't know what we're bitching about. Having Huston, Schreiber, and Hugh Jackman in the same flick would do ANY movie right.

Uncanny X-Men #495 - Feb 14, 2008 - 03:20pm
a) Brubaker can't write the X-Men worth shit (which is fascinating, considering how well he writes Captain America). b) Brandon Choi is one truly awful artist.

Bettany Helps Humanity in LEGION - Feb 13, 2008 - 06:49pm
This sounds disturbing. And interesting.

Ellen Page Dragged into Raimi's HELL - Feb 11, 2008 - 02:33pm
"iceman71 [Feb 10 2008, 5:37 pm CST] you know, Sam & Bruce worked on many films, but if this has to do with morality, I don't think you will get ''Now all you need is Bruce Campbell and it's a party.'' just my 2 cents..." Iceman, if you read any more into my comment you'd go crosseyed.

Jaws Star Roy Scheider Passes Away - Feb 11, 2008 - 02:26pm
Sad, sad news. I first saw Roy Scheider in Jaws (just like any other guy my age), and absolutely LOVED the guy in Blue Thunder. I'll miss him. He was the best. God Bless.

Brubaker, Epting, and Guice...COULD there be better creators on this title? Answer: Nope.

The EC Archives: Crime SuspenStories Vol. 1 - Feb 11, 2008 - 02:20pm
Ah, if only all books had this level of talent; and certainly better than ANYTHING Marvel or DC currently has to offer...especially Marvel.

Ellen Page Dragged into Raimi's HELL - Feb 10, 2008 - 04:15pm
Now all you need is Bruce Campbell and it's a party.

Jane Ready to RUN for McTiernan - Feb 10, 2008 - 04:14pm
Well, seeing as McTiernan is the king of smart action films...I'm there!

Audiences Hunt After FOOL'S GOLD - Feb 10, 2008 - 04:11pm
Here's my theory on why Fool's Gold did so well: the great promotional posters in all the theaters. I saw it and thought "Oh, that looks good!"

New Set Photos for Bond's SOLACE - Feb 09, 2008 - 05:10pm
I think Daniel Craig looks perfect for the part. Like a shark, in fact. Do we really need a Ben Affleck playing the part? Nope.

Ben Foster Recruited for MESSENGER - Feb 08, 2008 - 02:00pm
Foster surprises the shit out of me constantly. From playing a certified nut in Alpha Dog, to playing a creepy ass weirdo in 30 Days of Night, to playing the well-kept son of Warren Worthington in X-Men 3...the guy is just character actor gold.

Super-Villain Team-Up MODOKS 11 - Feb 08, 2008 - 01:55pm
Too bad Francis Portela is just a plain awful artist.

Kodi McPhee Hits THE ROAD With Viggo - Feb 06, 2008 - 04:45pm
Viggo + Cormac + Post Aplocalyptic America = I'm there.

McG Reveals Info on TERMINATOR - Feb 06, 2008 - 04:42pm

HANNAH MONTANA Tunes Up Record Debut - Feb 04, 2008 - 02:54pm
Oh, and PS--"Juno" is the best movie I've seen a few YEARS. It had quite possibly the best script I've ever encountered. Excellent stuff.

HANNAH MONTANA Tunes Up Record Debut - Feb 04, 2008 - 02:52pm
Ah, Miley Ray Cyrus...filching mothers and their daughters out of millions everywhere.

Johnston Confirmed for WOLFMAN - Feb 04, 2008 - 02:49pm
Nothing wrong with this news. Joe Johnston is a capable director.

WANTED SB Spot Online - Feb 02, 2008 - 04:59pm
If Angelina Jolie showed up in my cubicle and got me all riled up, I'd be shooting people too.

Brett Ratner Directing THE WOLFMAN? - Feb 01, 2008 - 01:48pm
I'm not quite sure what everyone has against X-Men 3. Was it entertaining? Yes. Were the special effects top notch? Yes. Was it cool seeing Shadowcat and Colossus finally get some screen time? Hell yeah! It was sure as hell more action packed than the original X-Men. As for Ratner, I suggest everyone go over to www.imdb.com and check out every movie Ratner has directed. He's actually directed nothing but pretty damn entertaining flicks. And I apologize to Pony for wigging out.

Short List of Directors for WOLFMAN - Feb 01, 2008 - 01:41pm
I can see Tucker's reaction looking in the mirror after he's turned into the Wolfman... "DAMNNNNNNNN!!!"

The Punisher #54 - Feb 01, 2008 - 01:40pm
Ennis is hit or miss with me. Either he writes dark, brooding, serious fare; or he's going goofball on us with characters that are silly and corny.

Brett Ratner Directing THE WOLFMAN? - Jan 31, 2008 - 01:46pm
Oh, and Pony? You're so full of shit when it comes to Ratner it's not even funny. Comparing him to Uwe Boll? That shows how much you know about anything.

Brett Ratner Directing THE WOLFMAN? - Jan 31, 2008 - 01:43pm
That fat bastard Knowles doesn't know anything. And what's wrong with Ratner if he IS directing this flick? I don't have any problem with that.

Paramount Confirms CLOVERFIELD 2 - Jan 31, 2008 - 01:40pm
Heh. Loved the first comment by McKracken. Cloverfield DID suck. If I have to sit through one more damn movie where I can't see what the hell's going on I'll scream! And I guess a sequel is to be expected when the first movie's budget is only $25 million.

Rise Up and Hear the Bells: The Return of Captain America - Jan 30, 2008 - 12:21pm
After 30+ years of reading and collecting comics, I can tell you two things: a) Jim Shooter was the best Editor in Chief Marvel ever had, hands down. and b) Joe Quesada is the antichrist of continuity.

Moore Leads Supernatural SHELTER - Jan 29, 2008 - 11:06am
After seeing Moore pantless in "Short Cuts", I've a sudden yearning to see all of her films. Oh, she's also a great actress.

Alexander Updates on PUNISHER:WAR ZONE - Jan 29, 2008 - 11:03am
Well, let's see...we've had one awful Punisher "film" (the first), and one awfully silly and campy Punisher (the second one). THIS looks like the Punisher my comic book lovin' heart knows.

Update: Quaid, Vosloo & Tatum Confirmed For G.I JOE - Jan 28, 2008 - 03:50pm
What the hell does Hollywood see in this mumble-mouthed, ghetto cultured idiot? This is going to turn out like crap.

Del Toro Directing Both HOBBIT Films - Jan 28, 2008 - 03:44pm
After seeing Pan's Labyrinth on DVD, I'm convinced Del Toro can pull these movies off just as well as Jackson...and besides, Jackson IS producing.

30 Rock Rocks! - Jan 27, 2008 - 08:27pm
"Flash Gordon" IS literally awful... But "30 Rock" is my cuppa tea. Tina Fey is exactly the only type of gal I'd marry and be happy with...funny AND beautiful. And I don't think the "Matrix" sequels ruin the original's place in history.

Resident Evil: Extinction - Jan 24, 2008 - 05:02pm
You can thank Russell Mulcahy for how good "Extinction" was...he's a fine director. Better than that Alexander Witt guy...there's a reason he's been a second unit director forever.

Update: Ledger's Autopsy Is Inconclusive - Jan 22, 2008 - 04:44pm
Screw the Batman film...I'm saddened by the fact he leaves a very young daughter on this earth with no father. That's a damn shame. God Bless.

CLOVERFIELD - Jan 21, 2008 - 11:04am
Here's a final note for aspiring filmmakers everywhere: We'd like to actually SEE what the hell's going on in the movies we watch. Adopting this "shaky cam" system is simply stupid and lazy filmmaking.

New Poster for Tarantino's HELL RIDE - Jan 19, 2008 - 12:29pm
This is actually sounds cool. I'll see it, and probably enjoy it like I did "Death Proof".... Cool casting too.

Michael Bay Prepping TRANSFORMERS 2 - Jan 19, 2008 - 12:20pm
Well, seeing as I thought Transformers utterly sucked, I could care less if part 2 languishes forever.

CLOVERFIELD - Jan 19, 2008 - 12:17pm
Just a warning for potential viewers: I saw a 9:45pm screening last night, and if you're the type who hasn't taken to the "snaky cam" style of the Bourne movies, well, you're in for it with "Cloverfield". There are some good chunks, that, due to the editing and choppy (and I mean CHOPPY) "camera" work, you will have NO idea what the hell's going on. The good stuff: Great special effects (when you're actually treated to what's going on) that make this flick look like a Summer tentpole in some sections. The monster is terrific. Further bad stuff: The acting is only so-so...believe me, people would behave MUCH MUCH differently if a giant monster attacked Manhattan. New Yorkers ain't THAT dumb...especially after 9/11.

Olyphant Toplines The PERFECT GETAWAY - Jan 18, 2008 - 04:30pm
I'm a Twohy fan, too...I really, really liked Pitch Black and Riddick.

Mulder & Scully Pics & Details for X-FILES 2 - Jan 18, 2008 - 04:25pm
Dear Santa-- Thank you for my one Christmas wish. Your buddy, Much

3:10 TO YUMA Takes Home DVD Sales & Rentals - Jan 18, 2008 - 04:19pm
Yuma was bloody brilliant. And I can't believe "Dragon Wars" is at No. 4. Pfft. I guess there's no accounting for taste in this country.

Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles: Gnothi Seauton - Jan 18, 2008 - 04:04pm
Cripes. If you're going to write a review about the show, at least pay attention to what you're watching.

WB Confirms JUSTICE LEAGUE On Hold - Jan 18, 2008 - 04:01pm
It doesn't matter if this movie is delayed or not...it's still gonna suck.

Megaton Directing TRANSPORTER 3 - Jan 18, 2008 - 03:52pm
I sure WISH Luc Besson would direct part 3...part 2 was an utter shitfest.

Casting Begins for Carpenter's GOTHIC - Jan 18, 2008 - 03:50pm
I'd see anything by John Carpenter...anything!

New Trailer for DEFIANCE Online - Jan 18, 2008 - 03:48pm
I'd see an Edward Zwick documentary about Britney Spears. So I'm there, too.

Marvel Comics vs Science: The 5 Most Absurd Superhero Origins - Jan 18, 2008 - 03:43pm
This is comic book fantasy we're talking about here. I'll tell you what's absurd: This column, that's what.

Bat Battle: Who's The Best Movie Batman Ever? - Jan 15, 2008 - 04:05pm
Oh, and PS--BatClooney's nipples could holster chemical lasers. Yeah. Cool.

Bat Battle: Who's The Best Movie Batman Ever? - Jan 15, 2008 - 03:58pm
Good God in Heaven...is there really any question? Christian Bale, of course. I'm not sure why folks liked Michael Keaton. A middle-aged, flabby comedian as Batman? Uh, no.

Orlando Jones Goes for MISCONCEPTIONS - Jan 15, 2008 - 03:55pm
Okay, the first 4 posts are better than this movie's plot.

Uwe Boll Responds to DUNGEON SIEGE Bombing - Jan 15, 2008 - 03:50pm
Jason Statham is now becoming the king of shit.

Charlize Theron Joins Viggo in THE ROAD - Jan 15, 2008 - 03:47pm
This is now my most anticipated upcoming film. Casting Viggo for this flick was a stroke of genius...he'll really show the needed tenderness as a father shepherding a son across an apocalyptic landscape. I highly recommend reading the book...it was phenomenal.

Amazing Spider-Man #546 - Jan 15, 2008 - 03:39pm
I'm sorry, but Dan Slott and Steve McNiven are NOT the creative team for this book. Especially McNiven, who draws very static characters with no flair or dramatic effect...he simply does not belong on this book. For God's sake, hire Ron Frenz, or bring back Mark Bagley.

Evil Dead #1 - Jan 15, 2008 - 03:31pm
At least they got the creative team right. Mark Verheiden and John Bolton are strictly A-list.

SUPERMAN on Hold, JLA Trouble Continues - Jan 14, 2008 - 12:13pm
By all means, Merin, count me amongst the folks who LOVED Superman Returns. It was easily my favorite movie of '06. However, I do understand people's feelings regarding the pace, characterization, etc... These feelings just don't pertain to me, though...I liked the care Singer/Dougherty/Harris put into the film, and especially loved the mature handling of Supes. I literally found no flaws other than minor stuff like Lex coming up with another "land grab", Lois being a tad too young, and not having a super-powered villain for Kal to duke it out with...

Scribe Avary Arrested for Manslaughter - Jan 14, 2008 - 12:07pm
Dumbass. Why does everyone insist they can operate a 4,000 pound vehicle whilst intoxicated?
