This weekend in Pasadena, Creation Conventions had scheduled Muppetfest, an event devoted to celebrating the 25th anniversary of Jim Henson's THE MUPPET SHOW. Now comes word that the con has been shelved.
The Jim Henson Co. issued the following statement:
In light of this week's tragic events, The Jim Henson Company felt it necessary to postpone the upcoming Muppetfest! celebration, scheduled to occur September 22nd and 23rd in Pasadena, California.
We are still fully committed to commemorating the 25th anniversary of The Muppet Show and gathering together to celebrate Jim Henson's vision. However, during these difficult times, our sympathies and prayers are with our country, as well as the friends, families and colleagues of the thousands of people who have been affected by this tragedy. It is also in keeping with Jim Henson's hope of "making the world a better place by inspiring people to celebrate life," that we have come to this decision.
Please know that any prepaid tickets will be honored for the rescheduled Muppetfest! event date, or, if you are unable to join us, we will gladly send you a refund.
A new date for Muppetfest! will be announced in the next few days and additional information can be obtained through our website at http://www.muppetfest.com/
