Eddie Murphy seems keen on starting up a new franchise, and the one he's eyeing at the moment is HAUNTED MANSION from Disney. The movie, billed as a family scare-fest/comedy, is based on one of the most popular rides at the Happiest Place on Earth.

As VARIETY describes the film (one of several in preparation based on Disney rides, including PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN) it's about "a father, who has previously neglected his family, encounters a ghost when he and his family visit a haunted house. The vision spooks him into a profound awareness of the importance of family."

More on this when and if he signs.
