I'm gonna say this and it may not be a popular idea and I may get some poo thrown my way for saying it, but here goes...

What about just doing a remake?  I'm not saying I'm a huge fan of remakes, though I don't always necessarily think they're a bad thing.  But in this case I almost feel like if they're hell bent on going through with this then why risk screwing up the series with a crappy third outing.  Because as much as I would love to see a third GB, I feel like at this point (what, like 12 years after they first said they were making a third?) then why not just reboot the damn thing?  I feel like with a remake at least if it sucks it kinda stands on its own and won't ruin the magic and nostalgia of the original.  Just sayin'...

It's not worth doing WITH him OR without him.  GBII sucked the frack out loud and Murray was right to leave it dead and buried.  This idea works ONLY if they reboot it sans any of the original peeps (cameos are fine) and it is placed in the hands of an awesome director.  This franchise needs the Nolan/Abrams/Singer level leader who will be respectful of the original but take it to new heights.

Exactly my point, kentmid.

Looking forward to "Ghostbusters vs. The Expendables," due for release in 2020 (it's in pre-production).  Understand Shia Labeouf will play Bill Murray's grandson.  Saw a teaser at Comicon..looks awesome

Bill was right to let this franchise peacefully die. I grew up with an arensal of GB toys, I still have a Stay Puft from when I was a tyke. However, I don't feel that anything good can come from this, especially when Harold and Dan look the way they do nowadays.

Some franchises just have to know when you hang the boots up, look at "Elf", they wanted to make a sequel to that and Will wanted to protect the integrity of the film. Sometimes, sequels do more damage than their worth.

Bring back the original team and have them take on a case that shows their age is catching up with them. First guy I would introduce is Oscar Vinkeman which could be played by someone like Tatem Channing. (I hate his acting but stupid girls love him). I would also think about bringing in Jonah Hill as Akroyd's nephew or something. Who knows, there is a lot of ways this could be done. But keep it simple and funny. And for God's sakes keep national landmarks and mood slime out of it.
