Music for George (SUPERMAN) Reeves Film
By: Randall LarsonDate: Wednesday, February 01, 2006
The composer who came in the spotlight in 2004 with a beautifully melancholic, subtle, but wholly melodic string-led score for THE DOOR IN THE FLOOR now returns with an ambitious project about the mysterious death of George Reeves, TV's Superman. Its title might possibly change soon, but for the time being it carries TRUTH, JUSTICE AND THE AMERICAN WAY, according to scoremagacine.com.
Allen Coulter, who worked in various well-known TV series and productions, such as THE SOPRANOS, SIX FEET UNDER, SEX AND THE CITY, MILLENNIUM and THE X FILES, makes his directorial debut with this feature, starring Ben Affleck as George Reeves and Adrien Brody as the detective investigating his mysterious death. Diane Lane also plays Toni Mannix, the wife of a studio exec, who may be having a romantic relationship with Reeves.
Film comes from Focus Features sometime in 2006 and it's currently on post-production. Later this month, Marcelo Zarvos will be recording the musical score in Prague, Czech Republic.
