MY BIG FAT INDEPENDENT MOVIE is a spoof along the lines ofSCARY MOVIE and NOT ANOTHER TEEN MOVIE. It includes parodies of some of the indie film world's most renowned movies such as MEMENTO, PI, PULP FICTION, SWINGERS, AMELIE, RUN LOLA RUN, MAGNOLIA and of course MY BIG FAT GREEK WEDDING. As producer Chris Gore told us, "It's a low-brow comedy, for the high-brow crowd."

November 15, 2003... Earlier this week the Hollywood trade magazines reported FILM THREAT publisher Chris Gore is making the leap from internet movie website to full-fledged movie producer. Just as SCARY MOVIE spoofed recent horror films, MY BIG FAT INDEPENDENT MOVIE turns a funny eye towards just about every recent indie and art house movie success story, such as CLERKS, MEMENTO, AMELIE, EL MARIACHI, RUN LOLA RUN, PULP FICTION and the obvious connection to MY BIG FAT GREEK WEDDING. "It's a low-brow comedy, for the high-brow crowd," Gore tells us.

Gore produced the film and co-wrote the screenplay along with Yonatan Berkovits and Adam Schwartz. The film stars Paget Brewster (ANDY RICHTER CONTROLS THE UNIVERSE), MR. SHOW's Bob Odenkirk and Eric Hoffman and cameos from stars and celebrities that the filmmakers want to keep as a surprise. We've got an exclusive still taken during production showing three of the film's characters. From just one look at the actors' costumes, you should have a pretty good idea of the films they're spoofing.

MY BIG FAT INDEPENDENT MOVIE is now in post-production and it's likely that the picture will play the festival circuit next year first before finding a distributor.
