Actress Sophia Myles has been set to lead the cast for CBS's MOONLIGHT fantasy drama. The actress (who you will know from UNDERWORLD & Tristan + Isolde) will be playing a love interest for the lead character named Beth Turner in the show. What's the show about?

MOONLIGHT centers on a private investigator (Alex O'Laughlin) who happens to be a vampire. The character has to deal with immortality, various vampire enemies and his love for Sophia Myle's character, an internet investigative reporter.

A vampire show on CBS? Who would have thought...

CBS does this every few years. They try and put a supernatural type show on their schedule. They did it a few years ago with that werewolf show with Mia Kirshner and Lou Diamond Phillips. It lasted about half a season. I give this show about the same chance. What sucks (no pun intended), is I really like shows like this. The title is all wrong though. Moonlight makes me think of werewolves not vampires. This also reminds me a bit of Forever Knight. That was a pretty good vamp series.

I never watched it, but the series "Angel" comes to mind. That being said, if it didn't last on the WB what chance has this got on CBS? I give it 4-5 episodes.

Granted CBS has an history of canning shows like this, but historically (except for American Gothic) these shows weren't all that good. Angel lasted 5 seasons under Greenwalt, which makes it a pretty successful series by most standards, and it remains the only show I've ever seen that got better with every season. I think if the network handles this well, and if greenwalt delivers as usual, this could be the show that breaks the cbs supernatural curse.

And she's HOT!

LOL Next time I write up an article on her....I'll add the words "....And She's Hot!" at the end of it, almostunbiased. By the way, I give the show 8-10 Episodes before CBS cancels it in favor of CSI: Alaska. Jarrod Sarafin

I wonder if "Moonlight" is supposed to evoke "Moonlighting," in which case they will have a wacky, bizaare PI office filled with screwball antics... and the undead. Who are they going to get to fill the Ms. Dipesto character? Nah. I'm trying to come up with the last time CBS had a successful supernatural/fantasy/sci-fi show. My memory is failing. I give it about four episodes.

Here! Here! to American Gothic tecnojesus!! LOL @ CSI: Alaska. Maybe CBS needs to approach this from a CSI: Transylvania angle?

ponyboy76, I too remember Forever Knight. I liked it right up until the last season when everything went all screwy. They killed Scanky. They introduced a new vampire and cop team, which took away from Nick Knight, and they ended the series badly. Overall though it was a good show and it was set in Toronto which was cool. If this concept can do half as well as Forever Knight I would be happy, as long as CBS will keep it on the air.

Hear, Hear Tecnojesus! Angel had a very good run on the WB and it did get better with every season...however only two of those five seasons were under the supervsion of David Greenwalt and then he left to do Jake 2.0 for UPN...after that it was a handful of different people who helped run the show...Greenwalt's name did stay attached (he did help create the show with Joss) as a consulting producer...as far as this new show is concerned...well I think it's kind of lame for him to rip off his own idea and recreate the show under a different name and on another network...Oh...and Almostunbiased is right...She Is Hot! At least the show will have that going for it.

"Next time I write up an article on her....I'll add the words "....And She's Hot!" at the end of it, almostunbiased. Jarrod Sarafin " I think you let us down by not doing it in the first place. And 'Art School Confidential' is required viewing for Sophia Myles hotness.
