Popular Asian horror helmer Hideo Nakata (The Ring) has signed on to direct Zanuck Independent's supernatural thriller Voice From the Stone, reports Variety. He'll be tasked with directing from a screenplay by Mark Wheaton (The Messengers). Dean Zanuck and Stefano Gallini-Durante will produce alongside Oliver Simon and Daniel Baur.
Plot Concept: Based on the Italian cult novel of the same name, story centers on a female psychologist who takes on the case of a young boy who made a promise to his dying mother to remain silent until her spirit returns. The psychologist begins to realize that the boy's dead mother has manipulated her in order to take possession of her body so she can be reunited with her son.
That reminds me of a joke.
Mom and Dad are going at it when their son walks in and runs out screaming. The father says “I’d better go talk to him”. When he is walking down the hall to his son’s room he hears a noise in another room and opens the door. He see’s his son on top of grandma going at it. The son turns to the father and says “Not so nice when it’s your mom is it.”
