Source: Integration of AnimeOnDVD
The integration of AnimeOnDVD into Mania has been progressing rather well this week as a number of items have been tweaked and changed to get things feeling a little smoother. When you reach the Anime/Manga section of Mania, you'll see a number of items along the navigation bar that should be familiar, such as the licensing lists, the comparison charts and the checklists. We've got a number of other things being worked through as well and we're fixing up the reviews sections - which can be found under Series - as well. A lot of this is just a familiarity issue as we've had the AnimeOnDVD site going one way for what, the last eight years? So here's some handy places to check out:
We've got a new streamlined version of the Archive page which should be much more familiar to people looking for something similar to our old news page. We removed the filter box, added a few fields and truncated the stories to 255 characters. This new page is a close approximation to the old AOD-style homepage and will probably serve as a much better landing page (especially for those that are worried about the sudden appearance of the NSFW images).
This new "summary page" is not linked on the main site yet, but it will be tomorrow. In the meantime, here is the link for your use!

These new pages should be loading quicker for people and provide things in a format more familiar to long time users. As we've stated before, the content of AnimeOnDVD is not change; we've got lots in the works and more coming as the integration is carried through to its full extent. As the Mania folks have been saying in the forums where discussion of the integration is ongoing, "your concerns are our concerns. Keep the criticism constructive, but keep it coming!"
