Prison Break Confirmed for Season 4 - Mar 25, 2008 - 09:42am
"what do you expect from CBS?" What does that mean? CBS brought Jericho back for this season. They should be praised for that alone. Other networks would have just let it stay canceled. The ratings were horrible for this mini 2nd season. You can't blame them for canceling a low rated show. They gave it a 2nd shot. Not enough people cared. Blame those people, not CBS.

Don't Believe the Hype - Mar 05, 2008 - 05:48am
Is Secret Invasion Saga like the Handbooks or Nick Fury Files or whatever? Is it an actual story or just bios on the main characters that will be featured in Secret Invasion?

The Blob Has Been Cast for WOLVERINE? - Feb 25, 2008 - 09:24am
Mutant pets... that's an interesting idea. 20105: Maggott's slugs wouldn't really be considered mutated pets. They weren't mutant slugs, they were his mutated digestive system. So technically, they're a part of him, not pets. Lockjaw - was he a dog exposed to the terrigan mists, or was he an inhuman who mutated to that form when he was exposed?

LOST: The Economist - Feb 16, 2008 - 07:23am
It was recently announced that they're only going to air 7 episodes, then there will be a 4 - 6 week break. Apparently episode 8 (which was filmed pre-strike) works better as a mini-premire than a mini-finale, so it will kick off the final 6 episodes of the season. Making season 4 a 13 episode season. I've also read that the missing 3 episodes from this season will be added to the remaining seasons, so in the end the same number of Lost episodes will be filmed.

One Comicscape, Many Subjects - Jan 16, 2008 - 12:10pm
What's even lamer about the undoing of the unmasking is Marvel's claims that people remember Spider-Man unmasking but they can't remember who was under the mask. The unmasking was Tony Stark's idea. It was a huge step for him in his plan to get heroes to register. He's a pretty smart guy, Tony, wouldn't he at some point think back to Spider-Man unmasking and find it a little odd that he can't remember who it was? Wouldn't Mr. Fantastic do the same? Wouldn't these two geniuses be very interested in this bizarre mystery? Oh, wait, it was magic that undid the unmasking and the marriage. It doesn't have to make sense. Making sense would mean they actually cared about telling a good story.

Ultimate Human - Jan 16, 2008 - 07:59am
Did Ultimate Hulk vs. Wolverine ever actually end?

Amazing Spider-Man #546 - Jan 16, 2008 - 06:33am
Just because OMD and BND were planned after Secret Invasion was planned doesn't mean SI can't fix the screw ups caused by One More Day. This whole thing just seems too huge and ridiculous to be a lasting change. And I wouldn't put it past Quesada to act like this is the permenent Status Quo and get the internet all riled up, just to undo it a year later. The whole idea is so contrary to everything Marvel is usually about. Marvel always seemed to move things forward, not backwards. They always seemed proud that they never had a Crisis. Hopefully Marvel will fix this.

Amazing Spider-Man #546 - Jan 15, 2008 - 12:02pm
I've got a question: Why should we care about Spider-Man now? Or any Marvel book? Apparently, at any moment Marvel could negate 20 years worth of continuity. Why should we get involved with the stories? Also, online petitions are nice, but we all know how Joe Quesada feels about negative feedback via the internet. Actual letters need to be written. Maybe we should all send tigers to the Marvel offices too. Worked for Jericho with the peanuts sent to CBS.

Amazing Spider-Man #546 - Jan 15, 2008 - 08:54am
dracor00, the New Avengers title simply hasn't caught up to Amazing Spider-Man yet. It will. I hope sales suck for ASM and they do use Secret Invasion as an out. Spider-Man's been a Skrull since just prior to Civil War. It wasn't really Peter Parker who made the deal with Mephisto, so it's not valid and POOF! Everything is back to normal.

Amazing Spider-Man #546 - Jan 15, 2008 - 06:27am
The worst part is, unless it gets fixed in the next month or two, when it inevitably is retconned, it'll be an even bigger mess. I can't believe that anyone at Marvel thought this was a good idea. "Let's move the character forward by resetting his past!" Good plan!

Amazing Spider-Man #546 - Jan 15, 2008 - 05:49am
To me, it read like it was written in the 70s. Peter talking to his pal Harry about Harry's new gal. Who says things like that? And I agree with the reviewer. I don't want to read about a total loser Peter Parker. He can have bad luck and troubled times as a married man with a good job. What "great stories" are there to be told with a single Spider-Man as opposed to a married one? Is Peter going to become a man-whore? I was perfectly content reading about a married Peter Parker whose stories I've been following for 15 years. Now it's all crap. I don't care what the writers and editors say, clearly most of the past storylines couldn't have occured if Peter and MJ were never married.

HD-DVD Backers Switching to Blu-Ray? - Jan 10, 2008 - 05:07am
Merin, are you serious? 2010? That's way too soon. Unless the next format is a Holodeck, most people who just bought a Bluray player in the past few years is going to upgrade again in 2010.

Which Trailers Get the SUPERBOWL Treatment? - Dec 20, 2007 - 05:31am
I don't know about that Wiseguy. I think networks rarely put new episodes of their shows against the Super Bowl. Usually they'll counterprogram with the first airing of a movie or some other special.

Updated: How Long Before Your Shows Go Dark? - Dec 14, 2007 - 09:31am
NBC gave Life and Chuck a full season order, so if the strike is ever settled, more episodes of each will be produced.

Digital Destruction - Dec 06, 2007 - 10:40am
Sharing a comic book with a friend and downloading a digital copy are not the same thing. They're not even close. The only reason to claim they are is to try and convince yourself that illegally downloading copyright material is ok.

HEROES: Powerless - Dec 05, 2007 - 02:00pm
Why wouldn't Sylar still have all the acquired powers after he was cured? Once he brain sucked his victims, he had their powers. The Shanti virus just prevented him from using them. Also, Noah may have been in California, but so was Elle and she had no problems getting to New York real fast. Plus, we have no idea how much time passed from when we last saw Noah to when Nathan was shot. Odds are a character we know shot Nathan (that makes for better stories than just some random) and the most logical choice is Noah. It would set up a great dynamic for Noah to have shot Claire's real father.

HEROES: Powerless - Dec 05, 2007 - 11:48am
Why do you think Sylar has healing powers permanently? For the entire series, Sylar has needed to do something with a Heroes brain before he could use their power. I doubt simply receiving a small injection of healing blood means the recipient permanently has healing powers, since that would mean Sylar, Maya, Nathan, and Noah would now have healing powers.

HEROES: Powerless - Dec 05, 2007 - 10:09am
I think the "bullet to the head to kill Adam/Peter/Claire" makes sense. The bullet would probably have to be lodged in their brain though, just like the way Claire and Peter "died" last season when they had something crammed into their brains. Once it was removed, they were fine. Also, maybe if their heads were cut off it'd kill them. Claire should experiment more next season. Sure, she can grow back a pinky, but what if she was chopped in half? Would both halves grow back? Two Cheerleaders? West would probably enjoy that.

HEROES: Powerless - Dec 05, 2007 - 07:35am
I'm not sure how much the strike actually affected Heroes. From what I remember, NBC wanted this episode's ending rewritten to act as a Season Finale if necessary, but Tim Kring said no. The strike didn't change the plotlines at all. This was when and how volume II was supposed to end and Volume III was supposed to start after the winter break. So, really, the strike is only delaying volume III. In fact, apparently Heroes is benefiting from the strike because Zachary Quinto will be finished filming Star Trek and be available as Sylar. If the strike never happened, Sylar would have been absent for most of Volume III

HEROES: Powerless - Dec 05, 2007 - 06:43am
Wiggley, what missing episodes would you like? There are no more episodes. We've seen all they've produced so far. If the strike is resolved in time, more will air in the spring after production resumes. If not Volume 3 will start next fall as Season 3.

Going Digital with Marvel - Nov 29, 2007 - 07:10am
I didn't say it would stop piracy, but it clearly helps prevent it. Or are you too ignorant to realize that if comics were easily available online then they would make piracy even easier. If no one ever had to scan them, just download a file and send it on, it'd clearly be easier. Sure someone will still scan books, and others will try to save the flash files. But what your implying is "Well, you can't completely stop it, so why try." which is just dumb. DVDs have copy protection, but with the right software you can get by it. I guess they should just stop putting copy protection on the dvds.

Going Digital with Marvel - Nov 28, 2007 - 08:56am
I don't think they are "out of touch with consumers." The fact that they are trying a digital comic service shows that they know people want it. They're trying something new. Maybe it will work, maybe it won't. I'm sure Marvel isn't against readers owning digital copies, they're just trying their best to prevent piracy. Marvel's goal is to make money. Preventing users from downloading and saving the comics helps prevent piracy. I find it funny that Marvel's Digital Comics Unlimited is abbriviated "DCU," the common acronym for the competition.

HEROES: Four Months Ago - Nov 14, 2007 - 07:56am
The "What happened to Hiro?" comment is typical of your reviews, Stephen. Do you have a 2 day deadline for these reviews? Sometimes it seems like you're not paying close enough attention. Personally, I feel like this episode made previous episodes better. I remember people complaining here about how no one in the world reacted to an explosion above Kirby Plaza. Well, they answered that here, the Company covered it up. I like that DL didn't die from Linderman's gunshot, but another random guy and that Niki was responsible for putting him in that situation. She knew she had split personalities at that point and stopped taking her meds and it cost her her husband. I think it adds to her character and gives her better motivation to join the Company.

Kring Preparing Early HEROES Finale - Nov 05, 2007 - 06:35pm
according to Tvguide.com, 24 is actually in danger of losing it's entire season. Fox won't start it if it can't finish it. I know it's easy to say the networks should just give the writer's what they want, but it's not that simple. The networks (or producers, or whoever the other side is) can't just cave in. Some sort of compromise has to be reached, otherwise the WGA or SAG could threaten a strike whenever they want, knowing the networks will cave to their demands.

WONDER WOMAN On Hold - Oct 30, 2007 - 11:27am
gauleyboy420, were you on Smallville last Thursday?

SMALLVILLE: Action - Oct 30, 2007 - 09:28am
I forgot to mention the absolute insane ridiculousness that was Chloe tracking down the killer. Through a website that tracks sales of individual Comic Books. With the names of the buyers. That makes sense. I know everytime I go to my local comic shop, I have to fill out 3 forms per book. If it's an anniversary issue, you need to include your social security number and have 2 proofs of ID.

SMALLVILLE: Action - Oct 29, 2007 - 09:24am
I think the idea of this episode, like a lot of Smallville episodes was great, but the writing is just horrible. Clark saved the actress in the begining and she said something like "You save me, you're amazing!" and it just sounded so unnatural. Not to mention that nobody questioned exactly how Clark was able to save her. Then, she stays at the farm because "no one would think to look for her" there. Really? No one would think to look in one of the locations they're filming the movie? And I really hope they explain how Lana was able to hold Lionel prisoner. That woman just happened to find him? Was it set up ahead of time? Did the woman call all the people who hate Lionel and offer to hold him captive? Did Lana have a plan? Smallville has (had) so much potential, but they just keep ruining it. It would have been great and a huge step forward if the producers actually let Lana die last week. Then at least Clark could actual move forward.

HEROES: Fight or Flight - Oct 25, 2007 - 07:39am
Maybe it wasn't a NUCLEAR BOMB!!!!!!! Maybe while flying, Peter had calmed down enough to prevent a NUCLEAR EXPLOSION ABOVE NEW YORK!!!! but not enough to completely stop himself from exploding. Or maybe Nathan flew Peter 20,000 feet and then Peter flew himself out of the atmosphere. Or maybe it's a FUCKING TV SHOW ABOUT PEOPLE WITH SUPER POWERS! Hey, you know what always bugged me? Whenever Hiro teleports, there's no effects to the surrounding area. A plump asian man just disappeared, but the surrounding air doesn't rush to fill the space his body occupied. And how could Claude and Peter see when they were invisible? If light is passing through them, how does it hit their retinas and get processed by their brains? Seriously, I can't believe the producers even put this show on the air without answering these questions.

Millar Denied SUPERMAN Pitch by WB - Oct 25, 2007 - 07:24am
It seems like most of the people complaining about this news didn't even read the article. The issue isn't the fact that Millar has worked for Marvel in the past, it's how associated he is with them now and how many current projects he's working on for them. Mark Millar specifically says that. Warner/DC doesn't want articles about the Superman movie to be advertising current Marvel books. I understand their position, but it seems a little stupid. If the studio execs actually think Mark Millar would write a great Superman script, the money they make from that movie would clearly make up for any boost in sales Marvel would have. It seems like this might just be an excuse to not hire him.

Butt Kicking Double Feature - Oct 22, 2007 - 01:29pm
Well, Terminator 3 isn't "thrown away" until a movie comes out that contradicts it. And since "Terminator Salvation: The Future Begins" is being billed as the first in a trilogy of movies set after Terminator 3, I don't think they're ignoring the third movie.

Butt Kicking Double Feature - Oct 22, 2007 - 11:40am
The Sarah Connor Chronicles is set after T2, so we really have no idea how Sarah's character should act since she was dead before Terminator 3.

HEROES: The Kindness of Strangers - Oct 17, 2007 - 04:48pm
Hayden Panettiere (and therefore, Claire as well) is 5'1" and tiny. West seems to be fairly fit. I don't think it'd be that hard for him to carry her.

HEROES: The Kindness of Strangers - Oct 17, 2007 - 09:42am
Well, Nathan was with Matt when Mama Pettrelli was attacked, so unless "Scarred Nathan" is physically a seperate person, or he has new powers, that's unlikely. I think the killer is Kensei.

SARAH CONNOR Begins Between 24 - Oct 17, 2007 - 06:49am
So we lose an hour of the 24 premiere for the Sarah Conner Chronicles? Yeah, that's a fair trade. I have such low expectations for that show.

PRISON BREAK: Good Fences - Oct 10, 2007 - 07:21am
Sara is definitely dead. There's an article over at www.tvguide.com with the Executive Producer and a letter from Sarah Wayne Callies saying she's definitely dead. If they planned on bringing her back later, claiming a look alike's head was in the box, they wouldn't have given the interview. I don't think Linc withholding the news of Sara's death from Michael can be considered selfish. Yes, Linc's probably assuming Michael would fail at escaping if he knew about Sara, thus dooming LJ, but not wanting your kid to be murdered isn't exactly selfish. I'm hoping Linc tells Michael soon and Michael uses it as motivation for escape. Hopefully they'll escape around midseason and spend the rest of the series taking down the Company.

What Will You Watch? - Oct 01, 2007 - 10:33am
I mostly liked Smallville, and I'm excited for the season, but there were some HUGE problems with the premiere. Chole "died" and was some how wheeled to the morgue, tagged, death certificate printed up, without Clark noticing? He was standing out in the hallway! So then, Chole just up and leaves the hospital. Hello! People are going to ask questions! Chloe, Clark, Lois, and Lana are at that hospital every freaking day! The entire staff knows them, they'd want to know what happened! Lex's mansion has always been lacking security, but how exactly did Lois get in? Lex is wanted for murder and he was not yet in custody when Lois showed up at the mansion. Wouldn't police be there in case he shows up? Then, the whole interaction with Bizarro and Lois was stupid. It's insulting that the producers expect us to think Lois is that retarded. Lois just left Clark at the hospital, now she sees him at the mansion and he's acting happy and horny? I don't accept that Lois would write that interaction off as grief.

Jorja Fox Leaving the CSI Team - Sep 28, 2007 - 08:21am
The other cast members still have another year on their contracts. http://community.tvguide.com/blog/TVGuide-Editors-Blog/Ausiello-Report/700000049

HALO 3 Hits $170 Million Mark on First Day - Sep 27, 2007 - 10:52am
popa, are you being serious? What impact of Halo 3 will be felt for years to come? And how will it affect any other industry but gaming?

HEROES: Four Months Later - Sep 26, 2007 - 11:27am
Or maybe Nathan, who clearly has some guilt issues about the whole peter exploding thing, simply sees himself that way. He wants to have some sort of physical scar as punishment for not doing more to save his brother.

HEROES: Four Months Later - Sep 26, 2007 - 10:04am
Peter's Energy Blast. There's plenty of explanations here. The easiest being we never saw all of Sylar's powers, which are now Peter's powers. Or, he encountered someone in the past 4 months with that power. I too don't think that Peter had to heal from the explosion. Someone else asked how nathan survived, I always just assumed he flew Peter high up into the atmosphere and then flew away.

HEROES: Four Months Later - Sep 26, 2007 - 07:10am
".IT left us with no direction of where this is going...The HEROES have NO MISSION" No direction? It was the first episode! Watch the first episode of season 1 (the first hour, since we only got one hour so far of season 2), how much direction did the characters have? It sounds like most people here expected way too much from the premiere, no one's focusing on the actual plot lines introduced. We have a virus that is threatening all the heroes. The evil man who can see Molly, who I'm guessing is the "worse than Sylar" guy she mentioned last season. The killer hunting the older Heroes. Maybe he's the same guy Molly sees. There's plenty here to develop into a great season. What do you want, self contained episodes? Introduce threat, Heroes unite, Heroes stumble, Heroes overcome threat?

Which Premiere Did You Watch? - Sep 25, 2007 - 01:28pm
Is waiting 20 minutes in the beginning better than having it broken up throughout the hour? amateurscientist, I think you sort of answered your own question about Bennett's job and money. He probably does have plenty of cash stored away, hence the house and car. He took a meaningless job because 1) he won't get noticed by anyone and 2) he doesn't actually have to work.

Which Premiere Did You Watch? - Sep 25, 2007 - 07:31am
A virus that only affects the mutants-- er, I mean Heroes? That sounds familiar. I hope Mohinder cures it, but realizes that using the cure would cause the death of a Hero. Then a giant tin man can sacrifice himself to save everyone else.

Update: Jessica Biel Out of WONDER WOMAN - Sep 25, 2007 - 07:29am
Brandon Routh and Christian Bale aren't playing Superman and Batman, correct? I don't understand why the WB is making this movie now. It seems odd to try and have two movie franchises with the same characters played by different actors.

EUREKA: Maneater - Sep 21, 2007 - 12:49pm
You've never had Breaded Chicken? It's pretty tasty.

EUREKA: Maneater - Sep 21, 2007 - 10:05am
I feel the same way about the "convenient plot devices", Merin, as you feel about the new technology in each episode. I would be fine if three episodes ago, the show opened with the Sexual Harrassment class, then the bring the instructor/scientist back when Carter becomes Mr. Right. Of course, I realize that that would require paying the actress for two episodes, so it's unlikely they'll do things like that. It is a minor complaint and doesn't really take away from my enjoyment of the show.

EUREKA: Maneater - Sep 21, 2007 - 07:10am
Another plot device the Eureka uses often that I can stand are the coincidental subplots. They just happen to have a sexual harrassment class the same day Carter becomes irresistable to women?

Continuity Crisis - Sep 20, 2007 - 06:40pm
They don't need to involve the main titles, that's what the WWH series is for. This way the main titles don't have to alter their story plans for the crossover. Keeping tight continuity doesn't mean all the books have to sync up or tell the same story, simply that they don't contradict each other and give a feeling that they share the same world.

Continuity Crisis - Sep 20, 2007 - 06:17pm
What you want Marvel to do is impossible. They can't make every book every week sync up. Eventually, all the other books will mention Hulk smashing up New York.

Continuity Crisis - Sep 20, 2007 - 05:06pm
gauleyboy420, things like Wolverine appearing in multiple books are something most fans accept, but complain about a lot. If you try hard, you can sorta make everything fit. World War Hulk is still going on, once it's over I'm sure other titles will show some of the ramifications. For obvious reasons, they can't talk about the ending of WWH in New Avengers before WWH actually ends.

Continuity Crisis - Sep 20, 2007 - 10:44am
I wasn't attacking your "damn continuity" suggestion, I just wanted to know if you'd actually prefer that. Personally, if Marvel ever decided to do that I would stop buying comics regularly. I enjoy the occasional out of continuity story, but I want the month to month storylines to matter, and I love when you get the feeling that Fantastic Four is taking place in the same World as X-Men. I think your comment about back in the day with Stan Lee is a little inaccurate. I wasn't alive back then, but from back issues I've collected it seems like there was more continuity back then since there were fewer books and writers.

Continuity Crisis - Sep 20, 2007 - 07:49am
Merin, would you really want them to say "damn continuity"? There are a ton of great out of continuity stories that have been published by Marvel and DC, but I personally want main books to always keep continuity. I don't want to read 6 great issues of Wolverine and then have the story arc ignored.

Fox Reveals Day 7 Details for 24 - Sep 20, 2007 - 06:50am
Jack may not have done anything too bad in Day 6 to warrant an arrest, but remember, He's basically been out of the Government's reach since the beginning of Day 4. Day 4 ended with him faking his death, then he came back for Day 5 only to get kidnapped by the Chinese. So it's been a few years since Jack Bauer's been freely walking the streets in America.

PRISON BREAK: Orientacion - Sep 19, 2007 - 08:45pm
I believe the company decided to use Michael in Sona after they realized their plan with the woman president wasn't going well. Clearly whoever Michael has to break out is important to them, we just don't know how yet. Also, at one point during the episode the PA system said something about Scofield. The next scene, Michael was meeting with Linc or the Company guy. So I'm guessing the guards on the outside announce that a prisoner has a visitor, then the prisoner goes to the yard.

THE 4400: The Great Leap Forward Season Finale - Sep 18, 2007 - 12:26pm
I think that's the point. Neither side is all good or all bad. Jordan's not evil. He accepts the fact that half the world has to die in order to create heaven on earth, but he's not going to murder them.

STAR TREK TNG: Resistance - Sep 13, 2007 - 07:00am
Wasn't there supposed to be another DS9 book coming out this summer? Fearful Symmetry or something?

THE 4400: Tiny Machines - Sep 12, 2007 - 07:16am
Well, you might be even sadder, USA hasn't picked the show up for next year yet, and the producers claim that next weeks episode can work as a season or a series finale. I don't think Tess went away because of Summer Glau's commitment to the Terminator show. I think it's because of her power. If Tess was around, viewers would simply wonder why she doesn't use her powers to save the day. Tom's marked? Have Tess make him let Diana and Marco cure him. Promise City is causing problems? Tess already broke in and broke Kevin out unnoticed, she can break up Jordan's whole movement if she wanted. She makes solutions to problems too easy, so I think the writers send her away so the viewers forget about her. Out of sight, out of mind. I still think Cassie is Kyle's ability, but she has different goals than Kyle. It seems like she craves power and manipulates Kyle into creating situations where Kyle (and thereby Cassie) will rise to power. I really enjoyed the symmetry between the original Jordan-Shawn relationship and the new Jordan-Kyle relationship. Jordan rose to power and took Shawn with him. Then, Jordan was gone and Shawn had to take control. Now, it's a similar situation, except with a different cousin. Very nice. This season has been really good and I hope it comes back again next summer.

MAGNETO Getting a Name Change? - Sep 11, 2007 - 01:08pm
I think it's more likely that they're banking on the recognizability of "X-Men" instead of "Magneto." Origins, is a very common comic book/sci fi term. It fits. Now, if they called it CSI: X-Men, then sure, they're banking on another franchise's title.

MAGNETO Getting a Name Change? - Sep 11, 2007 - 11:25am
Seriously, metalwear. It's not like Heroes Origins is the first show/movie/book to ever use the word "Origin." And if X-Men: Origins tells a prequel story of Magneto and Xavier, it's nothing like Heroes: Origins which is supposed to focus on new Heroes every week.

More Mutants in WOLVERINE? - Sep 11, 2007 - 10:20am
As long as the character fits naturally in the story and there's an obvious reason to use that character, I don't care who's in it. Hopefully the won't be like Spider-Man 3 and throw people in there just to have them in there, a la Qwen Stacey.

A Critic’s Eye for the Comic Guy - Aug 30, 2007 - 12:59pm
muchdrama and gauleyboy, could you please make a list of all the other things people are allowed to think are brilliant and the things they need to realize is crap? I wouldn't want to be caught forming my own opinion based on personal likes and dislikes.

Gough Gives Season 7 Details of SMALLVILLE - Aug 30, 2007 - 09:36am
Monkeyfoot, you're falling into the comics fan smallville trap. Wonder Woman can easily be written into Smallville because the Smallville continuity is in no way bound by a characters comic continuity.

ORDER OF THE PHOENIX Dvd Deleted Scenes - Aug 30, 2007 - 08:10am
Uh, no... Can't you see that Ron and Hermione switched sides. Geez!

EUREKA: E=MC...? - Aug 30, 2007 - 08:07am
The things that seemed to bother you in this episode, I didn't have a problem with. They needed some hi-tech force field to contain the blast, so it makes sense that a hi-tech device would be the solution. As far as the wrestling fans jab, I don't see it that way. Not to diss wrestling or it's fans, but it's mindless tv. Just like soap operas, reality shoes, everything on vh1. You can sit down, veg out, and you don't really need to pay attention. I think that was the point as opposed to insinuating that wrestling fans are stupid.

Gough Gives Season 7 Details of SMALLVILLE - Aug 30, 2007 - 07:48am
WB's excuse for not allowing Batman or Wonder Woman seems a little odd now that the JLA movie is supposedly going to be made while the Superman and Batman franchises are still cranking out movies.

WOLVERINE Shooting in Australia - Aug 29, 2007 - 08:13am
I think the problem with that suggestion is that Wolverine is already and established character in the movie continuity. Remember, these movies are made with mostly the general public in mind, not only comics fans. Ask someone whose only exposure to Wolverine has been the 3 x-men movies what type of plot they'd expect from a prequel focused on Wolverine, and I'm sure they'd say something involving the government conspiracy. That's the past that has been hinted at in the X-Men movies.

WOLVERINE Shooting in Australia - Aug 29, 2007 - 06:45am
I don't think we were all expecting Japan. There's been no mention of Wolverine having any ties to Japan in the movie continuity. There have been hints of a Weapon X type of organization. Telling a Japan story would be totally random for the movie character.

THE 4400: Ghost in the Machine - Aug 28, 2007 - 06:52pm
I'm guessing the Marked didn't put someone in Jordan from the get go because the expected their Isabelle plan to work. As for the money, that can easily be explained. Imroth leaves all his stock to another Marked.

What did Singer Pitch For SUPERMAN Sequel? - Aug 28, 2007 - 08:08am
"Donner's idea for the ending of Superman II was him reversing the Earth (again)" I may be mistaken, but I'm pretty sure that this wouldn't have been "again." Donner didn't want to use it in the first one, the studio made him. That's why they had the lame Magic Forget Kiss, although I think the "Flying around the world reversing it's rotation reverses time" thing is equally retarded.

Jeff Fahey Ready for LOST - Aug 28, 2007 - 06:36am
I'm sure the price will stay the same. Just like the upcoming release of the shorten Season 6 part 2 of the Sopranos costs as much as the full seasons cost. I was going to comment about how this seems like a lot of new characters to be adding, but then I thought about it and they added just as many or more in seasons past who weren't really main characters: Tom, that guy Juliette killed, Nicki and Paulo, Bernard, Richard. I don't think things will get too crowded.

Johansson Set for Miller's SPIRIT - Aug 17, 2007 - 12:50pm
I wish my secretary was dangerous and sexy.

Another Production Delay for 24 - Aug 17, 2007 - 12:48pm
I'm not entirely sure, I could have read this somewhere or just be making it up, but I thought they said that recreating a believable set would also have been too expensive. Personally, I'm not sure I love the whole idea of an Africa storyline anyway. The whole season would have to be set there if Jack was going to be there. They stretch the whole "real time" thing as it is, but you can't get Jack from America to Africa or vice-versa during a day. Those would be some boring episodes.

Meany, O'Mara Join LIFE ON MARS - Aug 17, 2007 - 11:28am
I'll watch this. Colm Meaney rocks! Although it's always a little depressing to see the Chief without his hetero-lifemate, Dr. Bashir.

Another Production Delay for 24 - Aug 17, 2007 - 11:24am
You can't fault them for nixing the Africa storyline if it's too expensive. They're not producing 24 because they want to tell good stories (Fox, I mean) they're doing it to make money. If it's not cost effective, they're not going to do it. As far as writing all the scripts in advance, it's about freaking time. I can't believe it took them 6 years to realize plotting only 6 episodes at a time was retarded. The first 12 hours of the first season were fantastic because they were all planned from the beginning. They even had hour 12 set up to work as a series finale (Jack rescues Kim and Terri from Gaines) in case the show wasn't picked up for a full season. It really sounds like they're trying very hard to make this season the best yet.

Offbeat Observations - Aug 15, 2007 - 04:26pm
"Quesada's the worst EIC Marvel's ever had" Are you kidding me? Take a look at what state Marvel was in before Joe Quesada took over and take a look at it now. Quesada helped turn Marvel around. Maybe you don't like some of the things he's done, but you can't deny the positive impact he's had on Marvel and the comic industry as a whole.

Offbeat Observations - Aug 15, 2007 - 11:30am
I think all Quesada's MJ-Peter marriage talk is misdirection. That'd be far too huge of a story to leak as much as he has. At this point, he has everyone expecting them to breakup somehow, most likely during One More Day.

JOHN FROM CINCINNATI: His Visit: Day Nine - Aug 14, 2007 - 07:46am
Not that surprising, but tvguide.com is reporting that the show has been canceled.

Checkov is Cast for STAR TREK XI - Aug 08, 2007 - 09:54am
It just seems like an odd way to go. Why reboot now? I can understand believing Trek needs a shot in the arm, but it's not like it's been 20 years since the last new Trek movie or show. Why not reboot the way TNG rebooted. Jump forward to a new ship with a new crew. Leave mysterious about what happened during the missing time. Maybe the Federation has been devastated. Maybe the Klingons and the Romulans united and are the driving force in the Alpha Quadrant. To me, the idea of going back in time and rebooting is totally unappealing. I've already seen those stories. I don't need or want a new spin on them. And just because it's "Kirk" as Captain, it's not enough to draw me into the theater.

Checkov is Cast for STAR TREK XI - Aug 08, 2007 - 08:17am
With each piece of news we learn about this movie, I get more and more skeptical about it. Now, I'm far from an expert on TOS, but I'm sure someone can answer this: Is there any chance that this movie will fit into established continuity? When the original series started, with Kirk as Captain, how long had everyone been on the Enterprise? Did all these characters know each other from before the series premiere? Is Abrams going the Smallville route, with a total reimagining (Lex and Clark friends when they were young)?

Helen Slater Confirmed For SMALLVILLE - Aug 07, 2007 - 10:30am
The article at Tvguide.com (http://community.tvguide.com/blog-entry/TVGuide-News-Blog/Todays-News/Smallville-Supergirl-Supermans/800019943) says she's playing Lara-El. I'd assume she appears as some sort of hologram or dream/flashback. I can't imagine they'd have Clark be able to interact with his living, breathing birth mother. That'd totally change the character.

THE 4400: No Exit - Aug 07, 2007 - 10:25am
I definitely didn't hate this episode like you two did. I agree that killing Shawn removed any doubt that the victims weren't really dead. It should have been Megan and Isabelle. Those were two characters I could see actually dying.

Michael Caine Updates on DARK KNIGHT - Aug 03, 2007 - 01:55pm
" I think Ledger is a fine actor, but it's not like Cain is going to say "Ledger was just ok." He's selling the movie. They all do it. " True, but was he asked what he thought about Ledger's Joker? Did he comment on anyone else's pefromance? If Michael Caine singled out Heath Ledger's Joker performance and said it was good, I'm sure it's how he actually feels. Otherwise he wouldn't have brought it up.

The Dreaded Comic-Con Recap - Aug 01, 2007 - 12:44pm
Pretty sure he was kidding.

The Dreaded Comic-Con Recap - Aug 01, 2007 - 10:25am
I think I prefer crossover chapters in relevent books instead of tie-ins in the third tier books. World War Hulk: Ghost Rider? C'mon! I hate the name change on Astonishing X-Men. Unnecessary. I also hate that it sounds like Astonishing will continue to not acknowledge the rest of the Marvel Universe.

JOHN FROM CINCINNATI: His Visit: Day Seven - Jul 31, 2007 - 01:35pm
I don't feel stupid watching it, I feel stupid for having wasted time watching it. I just hate when people say "Oh the people who don't like it are too stupid to get it." I gave this show plenty of time to become interesting. Instead, all there was was horrible acting, episodes that went no where, and the mom jerking off her son. I'm sorry, but I have no desire to watch this crap. It's not because I don't have the "smarts."

JOHN FROM CINCINNATI: His Visit: Day Seven - Jul 31, 2007 - 11:04am
Dur... Me no like John form Cinatti. Me too dumb. Me no understand. Me go try use geico website. Me get that. No get stupid show! Stupid show! Me hate you!

Whedon Talks Future Horror Movie - Jul 31, 2007 - 08:05am
David Boreanaz makes no attempt to hide the fact that he's done with Angel. And since he has another TV show, he has no need to film an Angel movie durint the hiatus.

THE 4400: Till We Have Built Jerusalem - Jul 31, 2007 - 06:28am
Maybe the devices form a dome of protection around the city. Not high enough to affect planes passing over head, but even if they did, the pilots would probably be able to recover long before crashing. Promise City isn't huge and the planes are traveling rather fast. They'd probably only be exposed to the devices effects for a few seconds.

The SIMPSONS Dominate Box Office - Jul 30, 2007 - 06:29pm
You do realize that the commercials are from the theater, not the move, right? The theater I went to didn't have any commercials, just stupid trivia and previews.

SPIDER-MAN 4 Needs a Writer - Jul 30, 2007 - 12:24pm
I wasn't trying to be a dick. I'm not sure why you would think that. Your comments here and on the Simpsons post were very similar and had more enthusiasm than most people use. I read your Simpsons one first and thought "He liked the movie" then I read this one and since they were similar, I wondered "Is he joking about liking these movies?" So I asked.

SPIDER-MAN 4 Needs a Writer - Jul 30, 2007 - 12:01pm
Are you overly enthusiastic about all movies, or are you being sarcastic? This post is almost identical to your Simpsons movie post.

The SIMPSONS Dominate Box Office - Jul 30, 2007 - 11:35am
You know what the thing is with the simpsons? Everyone loves to say how much the new episodes suck, but a few years down the line they love them. "Fans" say things like "Season 12 sucks! I wish it was more like season 8! Those episodes rocked!" Then 4 years later it's "Season 16 sucks! I wish it was more like Season 12! Those episodes rocked!"

Kevin Smith to Direct HEROES Episode - Jul 30, 2007 - 07:34am
Well, Jersey Girl didn't star Jennifer Lopez. She died in like the first 10 minutes. The plan was to market it as starring Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez, that way it would be a shock when she dies right away, but then Gigli came out and bombed and they were screwed. They quickly released info that Jennifer Lopez dies to try and avoid the Gigli fallout. I think having a confessed comic book geek write and direct the spinoff of a super hero show is a very good idea. It's just like the typical spinoff move of having cast members from the original show guest star in the first episode of the spinoff. It's stunt directing and I imagine it will work well.

The SIMPSONS Dominate Box Office - Jul 30, 2007 - 06:31am
"Lavoruis I think the Simpsons Tv show" should be cancelled. If one of head voice artist's said sucks! then you know something is wrong,. I been watching reruns.. on fox. I haven't watched new ep's for about 7 or 8 years I must say, the newer ep's are rather uninspired, and boring." I don't even understand your second sentence, but you say the new episodes are uninspired and boring RIGHT AFTER admitting you haven't watched the show in 8 years!

Kevin Smith to Direct HEROES Episode - Jul 29, 2007 - 01:10pm
Kevin Smith is writing and directing an episode of the Origins show. It won't "spoil" the regular show. From everything the creators of Heroes said at Comic-Con, Origins won't have much of an impact at all on the main show.

Harold Perrineau Returns to LOST - Jul 27, 2007 - 05:00pm
Ok, maybe, but we're still a few months away from promos and some might even consider promos spoilers. I always change channels before the previews at the end of 24 because they give too much away. There was a discussion a few weeks ago about this subject. Spoilers and how to handle it. Mania is usually really really good at warnings and I just think this instance was handled poorly. Saying that "Well you would have found out anyway." isn't really an excuse. It's not like you'd need to hear about it from a website. Lost isn't going to start up with Michael suddenly back and never explain it. There's not going to be a notice at the end of the episode saying "To understand why Michael's back, see transcripts from our San Diego Comic-con panel!"

Harold Perrineau Returns to LOST - Jul 27, 2007 - 03:55pm
It's still a spoiler even if it's released by ABC or the Producers or whoever. I think anything that tells you about the story prior to the episode airing could be considered a spoiler.

Comic Con: Spock Confirmations and Kirk - Jul 27, 2007 - 09:40am
Star Trek will never die, no matter how many horrible movies they make. Eventually another movie or tv show will be made. And no amount of flops or bad movies can ruin my memories of The Next Generation, DS9, First Contact. I never understand when people say things like that. Whatever comes next can't change my opinion of what came before.

Comic Con: Spock Confirmations and Kirk - Jul 27, 2007 - 08:21am
The movie does have a chance of being successful, and I hope it is. But that doesn't change the fact that I'd rather see stories set after Nemesis than a prequel or a flashback story. I, personally, am just not that interested in prequels.

Harold Perrineau Returns to LOST - Jul 27, 2007 - 06:23am
Jarrod, I disagree that it's impossible to post this story without people figuring it out from the headline. "Character Returns To Lost" with a simple image of the LOST logo wouldn't have given it away. There are so many characters that have left the show, it wouldn't have given it away. True, Michael and Walt are the only that left alive, but it's a Sci-Fi show with flashbacks. Any of the characters no longer on the show could come back to life or be featured in more flashbacks. Again, it wasn't just here, I've seen this article on at least 4 websites and none of them even tried to give a warning.
