Greg Grunberg's superhero drama Heroes has been picked up by NBC for the 2006-2007 season. Jeff Goldblum's supernatural series Raines was also picked up by NBC.

Heroes will feature Grunberg and Milo Ventimigila as a diverse group of people who discover they have super powers. Raines will star Goldblum as an eccentric cop who enjoys talking to dead victims. The victims help him solve various crimes.

I have high hopes for Heroes, can't say the same about Raines.

Heroes sounds really cool... if they have a storyline that is similar to Rising Stars... this could be something really special.

maybe on HEROES, but not so with RAINES...isn't NBC ripping off one of their own shows here??...usually other networks do that (GHOST WHISPERER)...why not just come out with a PROFILER: SVU??...that's the trend in hollywood, if a show works, make another one just like it

I like Grunberg. This show can be really good if it's not campy.

Grunberg is in Heroes? Is it a JJ Abrams show? Regardless, it sounds good. I like Grunberg, too. Raines sounds like Ghost Whisperer, Medium, Haunted and about 10 other shows, movies, pilots and other stories.

I'll definitely check out Heroes. I suspect it might make me pine for a return of The Tick, though.

As for Raines, it is definitely a rip of a current trned. But the major difference is Jeff Goldblum. He could really make it watcheable and entertaining, depending on how he plays the character. Goldblum is one of those quirky and eccentric actors that I very often get a kick out of watching. Also, I don't watch the other dead people shows, so this is really still new ground for me. If Goldblum works for me, I could tune in.

From what I've heard about Heroes it is supposed to be based on reality. People in our current world suddenly discover that they have these superpowers and struggle on how to deal with them. It sounds totally cool to me.

So basically HEROES is Unbreakable the TV series? If done right, could be fantastic. Also a reason to watch NBC again. havent watched NBC since the Cosby show left the air. Whoa..
