New Ad Campaign for 1-18-08?

A user posted this at unfictional. It could turn out to be nothing or it could be something else. After looking at the poster, a lot of news sites are saying it's perhaps the "title" of the film instead of 1-18-08. The word Monstrous appears on the top of the teaser poster in question leading the people to believe that's perhaps the title of the film.

Others are saying it's just the tag line of a new advertising campaign for the film which is planned from JJ Abrams and Paramount.

To see the photos of the posters, click this link.

The poster is a shot of the Statue of Liberty with its head missing and the words "Monstrous" appearing at the top. At the lower left hand side of the poster is "1-18-08".

At the same time, Shock Til You Drop has posted behind the scene footage behind the film which is currently shooting in Los Angeles. To see that, click here.

IT's just another tag line.

It would certainly be a good tag line for what I've been hearing the movie actually is... Rampage. Yeah, the old video game.

I actually see this as a trailer for the film. If you put that spliced footage to the right music, it could be quite "action-packed".

The movie is called "Parasite".

You've been "hearing" that's what it is, huh? Really Arycogre? Have ya?

I'll again throw out a possible connection to Lost. I still think it's absurd and unlikely, although the word "monster" is reminiscent of a term used a lot on a certain island.

guys come on , I really find it hard to believe it's a Rampage movie, or even a Lost movie. It's just a "monster" movie. All the hype this movie is getting, I wonder if it will ever live up to it. It's a shame because I am a huge fan of giant monster movies and if done right this could be great. But on a budget of 30 mill (i know, money does not make a film great by any means but it helps) I don't have my hopes up.

Is it even safe to say it's a monster movie? Abrams has been known to pull the wool over the audience's eyes. And as pointed out above, the reported budget for the movie is only $30M - not enough for an all-out CGI-fest monster movie.

I have to give Abrams credit for the most intriguing teaser trailer of the year, and for keeping the secrets under wraps. Like most people, I never even heard of this project before that trailer.

has anyone thought or mentioned this being a possible Godzilla sequel?

nrollins • Jul 24, 2007, 12:47pm •
Yes, many people have mentioned that possibility MadMathias. It's another one of the theories floating out there.

So far there's been no indication that Toho is involved, and without Toho's involvement, you've got no official Godzilla movie (or any of the other giant monsters in their roster).
