In just seven days on August 21, also known in the online community now as "Avatar Day", the world will get its first look at director James Cameron’s Avatar. 20th Century Fox is set to debut the film’s trailer everywhere and will show extended footage in select cinemas and IMAX theaters.
In anticipation for next week's event the studio has now revealed two more photos, one of which that shows off Sam Worthington as Jake Sully alongside his Avatar. Check them out below. You can also click on one of the pics to get transported to our gallery to see the rest of the officially released photos.
Avatar will hit theaters December 18, 2009.

The extended 16 minute (15 plus 1 minute intro) supposedly will only air 2 times on the 21st, at 6 and at 6:30 pm, I'm assuming pacific time since all references seem to indicate that.
So if you're lucky enough to get a ticket (they're free) and don't want to see it put them up on e-bay or stubhub and I'm sure you can squeeze something out of them.
That Avatar Day is straight up bullshit son! You have to go to the website sign up and then hope for some f&**ng tickets and that they are showing it in your area.
I thought you could just walk to the theatre make a line and see the footage. F this man. I'll wait for the bootleg version when it hits youtube.

I hope most people think like hanso, it'll make scoring tickets a lot easier for me. I had actually sent Jarrod the scoop on the tix a couple of days back but he didn't run it and thinking about it that may be for the better. Though almost every other site did put the info up. I'm practicing my clicking and typing, pray for me

gauley, only cause you're my boy and all, go to avatarmovie.com, I don't think you need to sign up with them for info but you may want to just in case and be online at 12pm pacific Monday. The tickets are free and will be awarded on a first come first serve basis as far as I know and believe 2 will be the limit
