Whedon mighgtve done well with Buffy but, in my view his run on X-Men was not that great at all. I'd rather have Leterier for Avengers, he's done Hulk, knows the works and the characters and ''technically' has worked with Tony Stark for 2 minutes so...he's ahead of anybody when it comes to dealing with multiple characters in movies (yes I know it ain't much but still).

Whedon is a MUCH better choice than Leterrier. Leave Leterrier to do remakes of 80's movies.

Whedon's run on X-Men was the first run  of X-men I could read reguarly in recent history (Morrisons New X-Men was another great one) He finnally got the merry group of outcast back to where they should be. I used to read X-men until the stories just got too redundantly boring. Astonishing was the best X-men run in the last 10 years.

I'm all for Whedon on Avengers!

I think the idea of Whedon doing Avengers is interesting.  I think he is great a doing group dynamics (all of his shows have had very interesting, well written, distinct characters playing wonderfully off of each other).

However, he has had about zero financial success playing with the big boys in Hollywood.  I love Buffy and Angel, but part of the reason they ran so long is you don't need a ton of viewers to be a hit on the WB/CW.  Firefly was canceled after one season because of poor ratings, and no one bothered to go see "Serenity" while it was in theatres.  He was removed from the Wonder Woman project (I'm guess because he refused to compromise his vision to accomodate studio suggestions for "improvements" to give the film mass market appeal).  And Dollhouse made it through two abbreviated seasons, but again, not many people actually bothered to watch it.

With all of that, I don't know if Marvel will be quite ready to trust him with the tentpole of all tentpoles.  But at the same time, he does seem to be respected creatively and as a person in Hollywood, and "The Avengers" will likely have a huge built in audience who will see the movie regardless.  And his hiring would probably generate good fan buzz, which proved invaluable in making Iron Man an enormous hit.

Actually they didn't kill off Jimmy. Because he turned out to be HERNY James Olsen, Older bother of the canon Jimmy. And Jimmy appeared at the funeral. So there is no continuity issue and Jimmy could be at the Daily Planet within 6-8 years.

Do we know yet if Sam Rockwell is in the Crimson Dunamo suit or if it is just remote operated? That would make sense if Tony Stark uses it for when he is to injured and needs Iron man to be around. It would be a cool plot pooint for part 3 depending on how far they o with his alcoholism in Iron man 2. Can't wait for WAR Machine after hearing ACDC perform the track last summer in concert. They deserve a cameo/.

Since when was Cosby's Leonard a franchise? As I recall it was just one bad movie spoofing movies like Austin Powers did, kind of. I remember in 1987 Cosby said it was not a series. I think it was tied in with a VHS video game system with a gun, I think.

Whedon does not have enough experience as of late. He could not deliver a solid Wonder Women script and yet he should do Avengers? Hriefly had godd character interactio, chemistry and direction but its not as big as Avengers is.

Elizabeth banks and JJ were the only watchable part of the original Spider Pig trilogy. I doubt Huh Laurie would reduce himself to an even worse Spider Piglet movie series. At least I hope not.

He would be another good contender for Mr Sinister. House vs Xavier.
