Maybe they should call it the Dark Grey Knight... hahahaha....haha.... ha..... man I suck.... don't hate me you we're all thinking it....

Thank Jeebus this thing doesn't have nipples or fake muscles. I like the new more 'armored' look to it. It gives Batman a more of a hard tactical look. Don't like that the bat emblem is so small though. I'm not sure about the grey scheme yet, I have to see Bale move around in costume to how much it affects the presentation.

Add some nipples to this one and it's instantly back to the Gay Knight look. Not that there's anything wrong with that...

But this whole angle trying to steep Batman in a more realistic world than the former arch tv series or campy Burton movies isn't making the Bat any less creepy, and putting Bale in it isn't helping either.

Even Bale's lispy speech impediment lent an unintended hilarity to "Batman Begins". "Will & Grace" had more hetero chemisty that Bale and Katie Holmes. I can't see recasting Holmes part making that any better.

Since I passed the age of 13 I haven't cared about watching Adam West sashay around in his tights with his seeming Quaalude slurred lines like "Quick Robin! To the Batcave!" which he managed to deliver as if such lines were anything BUT urgent.

However I have to say with each "improvement" to the Dark Knight the character seems to get gayer and feyer than the outright wink and nod that the West/Ward version had.

I still think Keaton played the part the best even if the movie all around him was a load of camp crap. Bale just doesn't do it for me, perhaps because I can never get that crazy "American Psycho" character out of my head. No matter what the Batsuit looks like he still seems like some sort of homo-psychokiller. That suit ain't doing him any favors.

Nor does it do any good to keep showing stuff like the cape becoming a glider which any kid who passed 8th grade science knows wouldn't work any better than a can of spray 'shark repellent'...

The world of Batman works okay on a comic page, but putting it on the big screen always seems to make it look sillier and sillier the harder they try.

To be honest, I love everything about the batsuit except the bat logo. It is small and indented......seems off to me. The utility Belt looks good as well.

AS for the Movie? The Trailer will confirm my hatred for the franchise.

One more thing. That poster is ridiculous!! First, we know the Joker in this Vision will not be a silly goofy homicidal maniac like the comics. Yeah, he is the "Joker", but Nolan is taking a realistic and sane approach to the joker. Why so serious? I hate that. Also, the poster just looks goofy. The black eyes, the "batsmile"? Bleh....that poster really irritates me. It reminds me of the Batman and Robin signal in Batman and Robin. It would be a little more effective if the bat sign was superimposed on the Jokers face.

Anywho, I think showing 7 minutes of the Joker before I am Legend will do damage to the Dark Knight.

Suit looks good, can't wait for I Am Legend to open up so I we can see more from this film.
7 minutes of JOker damaging The Dark Knight? Not if the 7 minutes are kick ass.

I don't like it, all that armor and the whole look accentuating the abs and ribs just don't do it for me. I think it's overkill, they're trying too hard and it's just too distracting to the eye. I know they're trying to make it more practical and realistic but I'd rather they would go with something that looked more like the traditional suit.

Batman777 • Dec 09, 2007, 10:02am •
They are gettig too far away from the original logo and it doesnt look god....suit is fine....I am still trying to get used to the new batmobile....maybe it will wear on me....But all of this makes no difference, because the qulaity of the movies are what is the most important...and the last one did not disappoint

You don't even want to get me started with the Batsuit talk. I've had issues with Hollywood's designs from the beginning. At least they are getting a little closer with the "gray", though there is too much going on with the armor. Yes it looks cool, but it's just not the Batsuit for me. If they went with this armor look then they could have easily made all of the armor dark gray and then made a large black bat symbol on the chest. But then again, that would have been too much like the actual icon that's been around for 50 years...I we don't need that.

Bunch of ingrates on this page... Nobody has seen a single scene from dark knight and yet people are already bitching about it... And elvisgump, maybe you see all the gay stuff surrounding this movie because in a way, maybe you are discovering something about yourself

More armor = less speed and agility. I have yet to see him do any acroBATics...at least anything I couldn't do.

This may be subliminal, but the more intricate and bulky his armor gets the less I think of him as a skilled fighter and tactician. He's considered one of the deadliest people in the world. Why all the crap? Shield the head, chest/back, elbows, hands, feet and knees only. In addition, isn't the emblem on his chest supposed to be a bull's-eye/focal point, so he's less likely to get shot in the extremities?

*POTENTIAL SPOILER*

I hear the fins on his gloves can shoot off. That's a bit much, all things considered.
