A month after showing off the characters in the first teaser trailer for their 3D adventure Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides, Walt Disney Pictures has given fans a closer look with some new official screenshots. As you'll see below, one of them shows an up close and personal shot of Ian McShane playing the famed pirate Blackbeard.
The fourth sailing of the blockbuster franchise also stars Johnny Depp, Penelope Cruz, Geoffrey Rush, Kevin R. McNally, Astrid Berges-Frisbey and Sam Claflin. Director Rob Marshall steered the production based on a screenplay by returning franchise writers Ted Elliott and Terry Rossio. The latter writer has recently been tasked with flashing out a fifth "Pirates" adventure.
Plot Concept: Crossing paths with the enigmatic Angelica (Penelope Cruz), Sparrow (Depp) is not sure if it's love—or if she's a ruthless con artist who's using him to find the fabled Fountain of Youth. When she forces him aboard the "Queen Anne's Revenge," the ship of the legendary pirate Blackbeard (Ian McShane), Jack finds himself on an unexpected adventure in which he doesn't know whom to fear more: Blackbeard or Angelica, with whom he shares a mysterious past. Geoffrey Rush returns as the vengeful Barbossa while Kevin R. McNally as Sparrow's longtime comrade Gibbs, plus Sam Claflin as a stalwart missionary and Astrid Berges-Frisbey as a mysterious mermaid.
Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides will sail into 3D/2D/IMAX theaters May 20, 2011.

I liked the first one. However, with the amount of story telling between the 2nd & 3rd, they could easily have collapsed them into a single movie. The 3D thing is pretty much dead to me now, anyways. Barring any major advances in technology, TRON LEGACY will be as good as it gets for a really long time.
Damn it, I STILL want that Rated R bio pic of Black Beard to be made!!!! A REAL pirate movie for REAL pirate fans!! RRRRRRRR MOTHERF*CKERS!!!!!

I agree with millean. I like the first pic, but its definately a poor 3D gag. I saw the trailer for this when I went to see TRON in 3D, and the same effect was used when Cruz runs her sword through the door that Depp is standing behind... 3D cheap shot. Loved TRON in 3D, will pass on this in 3D and watch it in normal format.
How is anything ranked as a poor 3D gag anymore. Everything is coming out in 3D now. It's all lame and poor.
