In the year 2315, on a distant moon in a remote corner of the galaxy, the mercenary armies of competing corporations battle for the rare resource rubium. This month the battle will be fought in family rooms across North America with the release of Nexus Ops, the newest title from iconic strategy board game brand AVALON HILL, published by Seattle-based hobby game leader Wizards of the Coast.

"Innovative, sci-fi wargames are nothing new for AVALON HILL," said Linda Cox, Brand Manager at Wizards of the Coast. "Our classic space-fantasy Cosmic Encounter was an Origins Hall of Fame inductee. Nexus Ops will follow in that same grand tradition."

An aggressively competitive game in which strategic play is crucial, Nexus Ops features stunning art, beautiful game pieces and a fantastical "other world" scenario. The unique, tile structured game board makes every battle in "the Nexus" a new experience as players advance their armies across a changing landscape toward a three-dimensional volcanic monolith; the source of the coveted rubium.

Released on June 10, Nexus Ops is suitable for 2-4 players, ages twelve and up, and features an MSRP of $45.

In July, AVALON HILL will reprint RoboRally, the popular game of battling robots by Dr. Richard Garfield, creator of the MAGIC: THE GATHERING Trading Card Game (TCG).

October will see the arrival of Vegas Showdown, a sure-fire hit that lets gamers compete against each other to determine which can best manage limited resources to build the most luxurious casino in Las Vegas.

Not only a leading developer of board games, AVALON HILL will debut the much-anticipated, World War II themed, Axis & Allies Miniatures collectible miniatures game this August at the GENCON gaming convention in Indianapolis. Axis & Allies Miniatures is scheduled for an September 16 national on-sale date.

^ Damn right and I bet they haven't updated the Books category yet either. But, there's plenty of time and writers to advertise a new board game. You know I could live with this if instead of an ad there was a review of the game some insight into it. This reads just like a press release for a new car.

You think that's bad. Try buying a 12 issue suscription 20 months ago and only getting 3 mags so far. Start making Magazines and stop "reveiwing" this crap Cinescape!

Are you F ing kidding me Jelliott? I'd be furious if I paid for twelve mag subscription and hadn't gotten more than three in more than a year. I'd be on the phone reeming them day in and day out. No wonder they can't update a friggin webpage...obviously they have bigger issues.

No Joking Jezuitx. Its gotten to the stage where I see the movies here in Australia before the "Exclusive Preview" articles come out. Every article is old news. I keep mailing them for my money back but no one at Mania cares. Needless to say I WON'T be renewing again. Lucky the webpage is free!
