Over at IGNFilmForce, Stax has done some digging around on the League ofExtraordinary Gentlemen. Consulting unnamed sources, FilmForce lookedinto the questions of why the characters Dorian Gray and Tom Sawyer have beenadded to the roster of literary characters for the movie. Furthermore, itappears Sawyer will be depicted as a cop in the film.
As has beenpreviously reported, Sawyer was included as part of the studio initiative tohave an American character in the film. But Stax's sources also shed light onthe cop role. "Twain's sequel was called Tom Sawyer, Detective," theunnamed source explains. "He'd be an All American cop."
As for OscarWilde's forever youthful Gray, the source told FilmForce, "Dorian isin the sequel comic (and in the hardcover - look in the back)."
