Lionsgate has launched a new TV spot for their summer remake, Conan the Barbarian. Watch it in the video player down below and sound off with your opinions. You can also watch the previously-released full trailer here.
The adventure stars Jason Momoa, Rachel Nichols, Stephen Lang, Rose McGowan, Saïd Taghmaoui, Ron Perlman, Leo Howard, Steve O'Donnell, Raad Rawi Fassir, Nonso Anozie, Bob Sapp and Milton Welsh. Helmer Nispel was behind the camera, based on a screenplay by Thomas Dean Donnelly, Joshua Oppenheimer and Sean Hood.
Plot Concept: The most legendary Barbarian of all time is back this Summer. Having thrived and evolved for eight consecutive decades in the public imagination - in prose and graphics, on the big screen and small, in games and properties of all kinds- Conan's exploits in the Hyborian Age now come alive like never before in a colossal 3D action-adventure film. A quest that begins as a personal vendetta for the fierce Cimmerian warrior soon turns into an epic battle against hulking rivals, horrific monsters, and impossible odds, as Conan realizes he is the only hope of saving the great nations of Hyboria from an encroaching reign of supernatural evil.

I agree it looks like a SyFy movie or Direct-to-DVD flick.
But I love Conan and think Jason Momoa is a bad ass so I will check this out in the hopes it will live up to its potential.
I feel like you guys do about Cowboys and Aliens but for this I'm really excited and hopeful for. The again I've been a Conan fan since I was a kid. I will be there for the midnight premier
That's funny Wise, I feel the same about C&A... I'm just not feeling that one at all. I think Conan is going to be great!!!
The new Cowboys & Aliens trailer showed a helluva lot more to the film. I'm really excited about that one. I'll watch Conan despite these trailers looking like SyFy channel fare.
I wonder if Lionsgate reads these boards and sees that the consensus is this looks like a crapfest movie on syfy's saturday night?
You guys are so ridiculous sometimes. First it's snide attacks on Mamoa. "He's too skinny, man, Conan is supposed to look like Arnold man, this film's gonna suck without Arnold!", now you're pulling out SyFy Originals comparisons. They should post a list article on here sometime, "Movie Remakes and Reboots the Maniacs thought would Suck, but didn't". I'm thinking it'd be a very long list.
Well, I actually have nothing against Momoa playing Conan. I think he has the look for it. I just think that from what I've seen so far, that this movie looks really bad. It looks like it is taking the path of a B movie. I have no hopes for it at all. C&A however, I think looks really cool and I cannot wait for it.
I'm with you Wise. I will be there for the midnight premier. Conan has always been a favorite of mine and I hope this produces sequels so he can be back on the big screen a while.
This still looks like a Syfy movie to me. It may have great fx, but eveything else looks to be so mundane. I won't see this until is streaming on Netflix.
