Michael Crichton has emerged from his silence of the last few years, and is putting the finishing touches on his new techno-thriller, PREY. How do we know this?
The same way we always know when he's done with a novel: before it even comes out, a movie studio announces it's already bought the rights and is planning a film.
This one is set to hit the streets in November, and will revolve around the emerging scientific frontier of nano-technology (the technology of the very small), bioengineering and genetic manipulation. Little more is known at the moment.
Crowed Fox president Hutch Parker to the HOLLYWOOD REPORTER, "Michael Crichton has always been one of the best at identifying concepts that are topical and well-suited for the big screen. He is very astute when it comes to pop culture and still manages to steep his ideas in real science."
