New DARK KNIGHT Trailer Online

By: Jarrod Sarafin
Date: Monday, May 05, 2008

As promised last week, the latest trailer for The Dark Knight, which you can see attached to Iron Man, has premiered online this weekend. You can see it at the WB viral site here. If there was an upload, I'd put it down below but for now, click on the link to the left. The Chris Nolan-directed film stars Christian Bale, Heath Ledger, Aaron Eckhart, Maggie Gyllenhaal, Gary Oldman, Michael Caine and Morgan Freeman.

Plot Concept:
Batman sets out to destroy organized crime in Gotham for good with the help of Lieutenant Jim Gordon (Oldman) and District Attorney Harvey Dent (Eckhart). The triumvirate proves to be effective, but they soon find themselves prey to a rising criminal mastermind known as the Joker (Ledger), who thrusts Gotham into anarchy and forces the Dark Knight ever closer to crossing the fine line between hero and vigilante.

The Dark Knight
hits standard and IMAX theaters July 18, 2008.

The trailer is awesome, glad to finally see the official version of it and not the youtube one. By the way there is a "Joker version" of this trailer where the Joker just draws and writes stuff all over the trailer, check it out on youtube. They had the trailer running with Iron Man also, so it was sweet seeing it on the big screen. Can't wait for this flick to see Ledger's perfomance and the Two Face look. I know we all high on "Iron Man" but I'm going to go out and say that "Iron Man" will make more $$ but "The Dark Knight" is going to be a better film.

Why does one have to be better than the other. Just enjoy the movies for what they are. It isn't a competition.

It's is competition Gaydor, it is. What?!

I'm kidding about the name and everything; trying to be one of those guys who like to argue on the net and swamp the boards. Yeah, it's definitely not a competition because we aren't the ones profiting whether either of them wins more money, accolades or whatnot. But I will be having both of them in my collection. I think I'll wait for the Batman Bluray box set to get The Dark Knight cause you know they're going to give it out with Begins in some form or other in the future like they did with AVP and AVP 2. WOrd.!

And...
Man, my name is too long to have to type all the time to log in. Where's the remember me button?

Mark my words. The Dark Knight will be one of the highest grossing movies of all time and will smash the opening weekend record. Morbid geek lunatics like myself and the general public will not get enough of the twisted eulogy that will be ledgers last performance.

Taydor – It’s not a competition nor do I care who ends up making more $$ since I don’t get any of it :) I’m just venturing a guess. “Iron Man” kicked ass, was awesome etc etc, if “The Dark Knight” ends up being better or heck even equal to what “Iron Man” was then it’s going to blow my frakkin mind! Out of the superhero flicks coming out this year, those 2 are the ones that I’ve been looking forward to the most, they probably are the films I’ve looking forward to all year. Personally, Iron Man delivered even more than I expected, I have even higher expectations for “The Dark Knight” as you can tell, I’m a Batman fan, so if it ends up a better film I might actually wet myself in the theater...................Mr. Jawbreakin - If you are going to wait for the box set then you might as well wait for Batman trilogy to be out. I personally can’t wait that long so I’ll be getting the Batman Begins Blu Ray special edition that brings a ticket to see “the dark Knight, it’s out the week before “dark knight” comes out. I’ll use that ticket for one of the many times I’ll be seeing “dark knight” and then I’ll buy the film when it hits blu ray after 4 monts.

Well, I mean; it is a competition to the studios -- but to Hell with that noise. I'm just glad that we already have one seriously entertaining super hero flick this year, and that The Dark Knight (haters be damned) is shaping up to look even better. Well, maybe not better, but I will put money on the table that says it'll give me more chills than Iron Man did. Also, you can kind of see the burn creeping over to Dent's face in the clip of him riding in the car with a revolver in hand. So it looks like he'll be more active as Two-Face in the flick than most of us thought?

Iron Man definitely kicked major arse...Dark Knight though for me is a different film- it's almost like trying to compare "the Crow" and "Spider-Man". Inherently though everyone from geek to non geek will go see the film because of loyalty to Batman and superhero films or to see Ledger's last full performance...which judging by the trailers will be amazing and will surpass Jack Nicholsons' portrayal in 1989. My opinion is 2 different directors, 2 different films, 2 different actors playing Joker.. is one better than the other? that is up to the viewer. For my money Heath nailed what I always thought the Joker should move and sound like plus he wasn't middle aged and pudgy. This new Joker is scary..Jack's Joker was humorous and playful and less threatening onscreen. Heaths' Joker gives you the feeling of a serial killer like Hannibal Lechter. Back to superhero flicks- these two rule the summer..I am not feeling 'Hulk' just yet but I will see it for the Tony Stark scene and the subtle hints at the Avengers movie.

Saw the trailer with Iron Man and it looked great. Nolan really amped up the action for this one. I hope the fights scenes aren't so clipped, but have more fluid camera work. That was my only complaint from the first movie. It looks like Ledger has delivered one hell of a performance. It's going to be difficult to compare Iron Man to The Dark Knight, and I don't think it should be done. Different directors, different characters, different "feel" for the movies. I just think it's great to see all of these characters I grew up with on the big screen.

I think Dark Knight will probably do better bank just because Batman's got higher recognition in the non-fanboy audience. But Iron Man kicked ass. Wow. Anyway, wes, I had the same complaint about the fight scenes in BB too. But I understood where Nolan was coming from. I saw an interview with him after I saw the movie, and he said he intentionally did that to keep a raw, chaotic feel to the scenes because a real fight isn't graceful and orderly. That being said, I hope the fights in this movie are a little more fluid. Just makes for better viewing...

Not sure if anyone else noticed this, but the shot of Harvey Dent in the car holding the gun up is actually him as TWO-FACE. If you freeze the image you can see a hint of scarring around his chin. The left side of his suit also looks damaged compared to the right side.
