With the film poised to invade theaters this weekend, Sony Pictures has revealed some last minute clips for District 9. The clips give a glimpse of a how the MNU (see viral site here) comes into play within the story revolving around aliens stuck on Earth. You can check out two of the clips in the video players below and a third one here. The sci-fi film stars Sharlto Copley and David James. Neill Blomkamp directed the project, based on a short film he created while Peter Jackson produces.
Plot Concept: 28 years ago, aliens made first contact with Earth. Humans waited for the hostile attack, or the giant advances in technology. Neither came. Instead, the aliens were refugees, the last survivors of their home world. The creatures were set up in a makeshift home in South Africa's "District 9" as the world's nations argued over what to do with them.
Now, patience over the alien situation has run out. Control over the aliens has been contracted out to Multi-National United (MNU), a private company uninterested in the aliens' welfare – they will receive tremendous profits if they can make the aliens' awesome weaponry work. So far, they have failed; activation of the weaponry requires alien DNA.
The tension between the aliens and the humans comes to a head when an MNU field operative, Wikus van der Merwe (Sharlto Copley), contracts a mysterious virus that begins changing his DNA. Wikus quickly becomes the most hunted man in the world, as well as the most valuable – he is the key to unlocking the secrets of alien technology. Ostracized and friendless, there is only one place left for him to hide: District 9.

Wise how much have you read? This is one of the only movies this summer that I feel like I Have no clue about
I am so weak. I just watched the clips anyway since gauley said they don't give anything away.
I could fill in on some of that but I won't. I know most people are more sensitive to spoiilers.

gauley, I check a lot of sites and I'm not really shy about spoilers so I've managed to find out quite a bit. I can give you the entire plot with a lot of spoilers except the exact ending. Plus there are already quite a few spoilerish reviews for those that don't mind around the net. I just figure I'll hold the line where I'm at. Friday is just around the corner

I hope the clips didn't ruin it for you...I try to stay away from alot of info about movies before I see them too, I think it was you that posted the original short fil this is based on ....IT WAS AWESOME!!!! Thanks!

so is it supposed to be like a "documentary" of the aliens plight in south africa? because the only trailer i have seen is pretty much... well... not that inspiring...
Dont want to mess it up by watching these. Im already looking forward to this.
