Date: Tuesday, May 27, 2003

Four months after its theatrical release, the Colin Farrell/Al Pacino thriller THE RECRUIT is now out on VHS and DVD. Farrell stars as rookie CIA graduate James Clayton who is taken under the wing by experienced agent Walter Burke (Pacino) who advises him that "Nothing is as it seems." But when Burke tells Clayton that he suspects a female trainee (Bridget Moynihan) may in fact be a mole spying on the agengy, the young intelligence agent will be put to the test. Who is telling Clayton the real truth?

The DVD release of THE RECRUIT features a commentary by director Roger Donaldson and actor Colin Farrell, as well as deleted scenes, the film's trailers and a featurette examining the practices of training new CIA recruits. The transfer was done in widescreen anamorphic format and the sound is in Dolby and DTS surround sound.

Buena Vista Home Video is pricing THE RECRUIT at $29.99. Read Cinescape's review of the movie and find out what grade the picture earned.
